Barça aims to be able to play its first home game in the 25/26 season in front of 30,000 fans at the Spotify Camp Nou. For now, everything is in the hands of the City Council
Days after FC Barcelona announced the return to the Spotify Camp Nou on August 10 to play the Joan Gamper Trophy, and after the City Council's refusal to grant the First Occupation License, the club began to handle things with greater caution to avoid a similar scenario.
In that sense, according to conversations between representatives of Barça and the Turkish construction company Limak, the current forecast is that, just after the Gamper, both the Tribune and the Gol Sud will be fully operational.
Therefore, the club is confident of obtaining the first occupation license in early September, which would allow access to around 30,000 spectators in the Estadi.
Although the club now prefers not to give new dates for a possible return to the blaugrana temple, the operators continue working at full speed to be able to return to the venue between September 13 and 14. That weekend, Hansi Flick's team would play their first home game against Valencia.
The visits of LaLiga and UEFA, key in the coming days
Among the dates planned for the partial reopening of the stadium, Barça hopes to receive a visit from representatives of both LaLiga and UEFA, who must validate the conditions for the return of official competitions to the Spotify Camp Nou.
However, the final approval will depend on the Barcelona City Council, whose authorization is essential to advance in the reopening process.
Thus, the progress in recent weeks has been evident; one of the latest was the installation of the final turf for the first half of 25/26. However, the club wants to continue accelerating to meet the objectives, without confirming new dates until obtaining the necessary permits.
Camp Nou Capacity: How many fans will be able to enter the Estadi?
Thus, for now, Barça is not expected to receive 60,000 fans against Valencia, in case they can play in Les Corts on the fourth matchday of LaLiga. If the established deadlines are met, the most likely scenario is that the game will be played with the presence of 30,000 spectators.
It should be noted that Barça's estimates indicate that, by the last week of August, the lateral area of the Estadi should have been completed, which would allow access to 45,000 fans.
Among the forecasts handled by the club is also the one that points to the completion of the Gol Nord stand by the end of September, which is currently the most delayed in the remodeling process of the Estadi.
Three weeks later, the club hopes to obtain the first occupation license for the first two complete rings. If there are no setbacks, the Spotify Camp Nou could host up to 60,000 spectators from the month of October.
