Given the lack of the Final Construction Certificate for the Camp Nou, options arise such as playing the match against Valencia behind closed doors or at the Johan Cruyff
FC Barcelona needs to receive the Final Construction Certificate of the Spotify Camp Nou so that the City Council grants them the First Occupation License before matchday 4 of LaLigamatchday 4 of LaLiga, which, in principle, is expected to be played at the Azulgrana stronghold if everything goes well.
However, the match corresponding to that date of LaLiga 2025/26 will be against Valencia CF. And since it is not yet definitively known whether it will be played at the Blaugrana team's venue or not, other possibilities are beginning to emerge before the commitment between September 13 and 14 takes place.
Thus, among the options that come to light as a 'plan B' to play the match is using the Spotify Camp Nou behind closed doors or moving the J4 match to the Estadi Johan Cruyff, with a capacity of 6,000 spectators, according to recent information.
The VAR, the main obstacle to playing at the Johan Cruyff
Regarding the Estadi Johan Cruyff, the stage that already hosted the Joan Gamper Trophy against Como, the Catalan team has guaranteed all the conditions related to security and public attendance.
However, the main obstacle to hosting the match against Valencia lies in the absence of the technological infrastructure required by LaLiga, since the venue does not yet have the systems required by the league, such as VAR, SAOT, Sportian Performance, and the automatic television system.
Added to this is the uncertainty about the schedules of Barça Women and Barça Atlètic, regular occupants of the stadium, whose calendars have not yet been defined and could generate logistical conflicts.
Likewise, the Montjuic Olympic Stadium is ruled out for playing this match, since the commitment will be between September 13 and 14, while on the 12th Post Malone will perform at the venue, meaning that the venue cannot be prepared in time to play.
However, the alternative that has been considered in recent hours contemplates a scenario of low demand in the sale of tickets for the concert scheduled in Montjuic. In that case, the event could be relocated to the nearby Palau Sant Jordi, which would free up the stadium and make it available for the team.
Another option that is being considered is reaching an agreement with Girona for Barcelona to act as the home team at the Estadio Municipal de Montilivi. However, for now, there would be no contacts between the clubs for this scenario.
The Spotify Camp Nou will be able to host a low capacity of fans
In the event that the Barça-Valencia match ends up being played at the Camp Nou, the club will only allow the entry of 27,000 fans between the Tribuna and the Gol Sur, since the reopening will be staggered and a plan was drawn up for this.
Later, the Lateral sector will be opened, which will allow increasing the capacity to 45,000 spectators. Finally, the opening will be completed with the Gol Norte, with the aim of reaching 60,000 available seats between the first and second tiers.
In this gradual way, the board will expand the locations in the renovated stadium, which also when it is fully ready will be able to host 105,000 souls.
