Joan Laporta explained this Thursday the progress of the works at the Spotify Camp Nou. The Barça president explained that the pace remains as planned and that the club expects to obtain license 1C —corresponding to the North Goal and the Fan Stand— between the end of December and the beginning of January, provided that no technical setbacks arise.

The president also detailed how the stadium's occupancy model will evolve as the work progresses. Currently, the distribution stands at 60% for members and 40% for general tickets. The goal, he emphasized, is to reach a 70%-30% balance when the Camp Nou can stably host 62,000 spectators during this transitional phase.

Laporta defended that this model reinforces the club's social identity and guarantees the majority presence of season ticket holders in major matches, avoiding episodes like the **invasion of Eintracht fans in the 2022 Europa League**. For this reason, he justified that last season's European match had exclusive tickets for members

Leo Messi: Tribute with a 105,000-Spectator Camp Nou

Another of the topics addressed was the symbolic return of Leo Messi to Camp Nou, a desire shared by the board and a good portion of the Barça fans. Laporta insisted that the club will organize a tribute match for the Argentine star once the new stadium is completely finished and can host 105,000 fans.

"It's what the best player in the club's history deserves", he stated emphatically. Although Messi is no longer part of the team, his legacy continues to weigh heavily, and Barça wants to close his chapter with the recognition that could not be carried out in 2021 due to institutional and economic reasons.

Against Eintracht, tickets only for members

Barça's next Champions League opponent is Eintracht Frankfurt. And since 2022, the German team's name has been associated with full Camp Nou stands filled with visiting fans. An unprecedented invasion that has become one of the saddest images in the club's recent history.

To prevent the situation from happening again on December 9, the Barcelona entity, after studying several options, has adopted a series of measures. The most forceful is that only club members will be able to buy tickets. The general public will not have access this time. This is explained by the vice-president, Elena Fort.

"Futbol Club Barcelona has decided that, to ensure the safety of our members, for this match only tickets will be available for sale to our male and female members"

Barça will also strengthen controls at the stadium in the moments leading up to the match against Eintracht Frankfurt. "Security measures at the entrances and gates of the Camp Nou will be reinforced. There will be visual and nominal ticket checks to prevent fans with rival team attire from entering. There will be close collaboration with security forces, both local and German, to prevent scalping situations."
