Barça hopes to have Lamine Yamal back next week. The '10' is working separately from the squad to overcome his discomfort in the pubis and could be a substitute against Girona
The FC Barcelona medical team has already defined the route to follow with Lamine Yamal. Although, for the moment, there is no estimated time of absence and his evolution will determine his availability, the sensations of the player from Mataró in his work apart from the squad are positive.
The '10' missed matchday 8 against Sevilla (4-1) and was removed from Spain's squad for the double matchday of World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Bulgaria after relapsing from his groin discomfort last week.
Initially, his absence was feared for around three to four weeks, as happened last month after the first international break. Pubalgia is an injury that demands a specific rehabilitation plan and, in severe cases, can require months of recovery.
Lamine Yamal's work plan during the international break
Therefore, Barça has tried to take maximum care of him, a decision that, ultimately, the Spanish National Team also accepted by respecting his recovery time. However, Lamine has been doing physical work separate from the squad and, unlike the rest of the players who did not travel with their national teams, he will only rest from Thursday to Sunday.
Yamal will have one less day of rest with the aim of continuing the specific recovery and strengthening sessions for the injured area. Once the bulk of the squad returns to work next Wednesday, the player from Rocafonda would gradually add physical load alongside his teammates, with his sights set on the match on Saturday the 18th against Girona (16:15 CEST).

Lamine Would Get Minutes Against Girona, With Eyes on Olympiacos and Real Madrid

That day, as against Real Sociedad, Yamal would be a substitute, but he could play at least half an hour in the second half. If all goes well, the 18-year-old winger would be in the starting lineup against Olympiacos for matchday 3 of the Champions League (Tuesday the 21st). That day, ideally for Hansi Flick, he would play 60-70 minutes to be in top physical condition for the Clásico.
And the '10's main objective, clearly, is to be at his best for the visit to Real Madrid on Sunday, October 26 (16:15 CEST). So far, Lamine has 2 goals and 4 assists in 5 matches (392 minutes) with Barça. Due to pubalgia, he has missed half of the matches played by the Azulgrana team in the 25/26 season (10).
