Barça will put its third kit for the 25/26 season on sale this Tuesday, with an open controversy with LaLiga for its use in the tournament
FC Barcelona will officially present its third kit for the 2025/26 season this Tuesday, August 19. The details of the shirt and pants had been leaked for several months and, even, there were stores in China that put the kit on sale a couple of weeks ago.
Well, the orange shirt will be put on sale in all official club and Nike stores globally from Tuesday, with prices starting at 100 euros for the stadium version (replica for fans) and 150 euros in its match version (identical to the one used by the players in each game).
In addition to an intense orange, the kit will have details in dark blue (navy), the same color in which the club's crest, sponsors and the player's name and number appear. The pants will also be the same blue, reminiscent of the combination that Barça used as an alternative kit in 09/10.
Controversy with LaLiga over the use of Barça's alternative shirts for the 25/26 season
Barcelona, however, will have problems debuting their third kit this season. As happened in the debut on Saturday against Mallorca, LaLiga will not authorize the club to use any of its official kits for the 25/26 season to face Levante for matchday 2, this Saturday at 9:30 p.m.
The refusal has to do with the change in criteria for choosing the kits for each team this season. LaLiga uses the 'Kit selector' application for each club to choose its kit for the match. If both pass the app's filter, there is no problem.
However, when using Barça's second and third kits with dark pants (black for the second, dark blue for the third), it is very likely that the 'Kit selector' will reject it due to a contrast issue on several occasions. The second shirt, pale ocher in color, had perfect contrast with Mallorca's red, but both kits used black in their pants.
Therefore, the Blaugrana team had to use its third kit from 24/25 in its debut in Son Moix. And the same will happen next Saturday in Butarque. Although Barça played in that stadium in 14/15 using a kit with a very similar orange tone, this year the criteria has changed.
The second kit could pass the filter as long as the club used pants of the same color as the shirt. Something, for now, not planned, since the idea is to take advantage of the details in black and violet on the shirt to contrast with the shorts. In the case of the orange shirt, there is not enough contrast with the Valencian team's granota.
When will Barça's third kit for the 25/26 season debut?

Thus, Barcelona could only debut one of its alternative kits for the 25/26 season on matchday 3, against Rayo in Vallecas. As the Madrid team uses a totally white kit, there would be no problem for the Culés to use their orange shirt that day.
Barça's third kit for this season has a vintage design, based on the 'Total 90' model that Nike used between 2004 and 2007. In 2006, the club also used orange in its second kit, but in a softer tone and with the same tone for the pants.
