Works at the Spotify Camp Nou, the mythical home of FC Barcelona, are continuing at a good pace. The goal is to open its doors before the end of the 2024-25 season, specifically in the month of May. At that time, among other events, the Blaugrana team could play again in their stadium with a Clásico against Real Madrid.

FC Barcelona has made significant progress in a key aspect: installing the turf on the playing field. Recently, it was mentioned that workers from Limak, the Turkish construction company in charge of the works at the Spotify Camp Nou, have already cleared the entire surface to begin these works.

Prior to installing the turf, important preliminary work is being carried out, such as excavating trenches to place the necessary pipes to ensure proper surface drainage. This step is crucial for the turf installation.

It is important to note that, according to FC Barcelona's planning for these works, it is estimated that turf installation will take approximately 10 weeks. This means that the turf should be fully ready by mid-April, which represents significant progress towards the goal of reopening Spotify Camp Nou in May. However, this return is subject to considerations beyond just the turf.

Other points to consider in the development of works at the Spotify Camp Nou

Regarding the Espai Barça project, there have been slight variations. It has been decided to postpone for a year the installation of the roof, which will start in the summer of 2026. With this adjustment, it is expected that the inauguration of the new Culés' home will take place in October 2026.

In addition to the progress of the works, it is necessary to obtain approval from LaLiga, the RFEF, UEFA, as well as permits from the Fire Department and the Barcelona City Council for the return to Spotify Camp Nou to become a reality. Although the first phase could be ready by mid-April, the authorization of these procedures could slightly delay the timelines.
