The past year, the Chain BE gave a true bombazo news when revealing to the world of the football the turbulent information that the directive of Josep María Bartomeu had hired the services of a company to damage the image of some of his detractores, between them players of the club. The scandal produced by this fact is known like the Barçagate and this Monday has begun to bring remarkable consequences, with the arrest of the ex-president of the picture culé and other directors, by what is important to know how managed the facts in thetime .
17 February 2020
It was the date in which it initiated the scandal. All destapó in the program Què t'hi Jugues! To BE Catalonia, in where it informed that the Barcelona had hired to the company I3Ventures, with the end to create false profiles in social networks and desprestigiar to some figures of the surroundings of the club. For this, Josep María Bartomeu and his managerial had used, according to the report, a mount of one million euros, delivered in agreements of less than 200.000 euros, to evade the internal controls of the entity.
18 and 21 February 2020
A day after the said in BEING Catalonia, the Barcelona desvincula of I3Ventures and denies contundentemente that the company had the task to create false profiles of social networks and desprestigiar to the figures of the surroundings culé. Three days afterwards, Josep María Bartomeu hires to Price WaterHouse Coopers, a company auditor and, incidentally, descarta the idea to anticipate the elections.
10 and 14 April 2020
In the first of these days produces the resignation of five directors of the Barcelona: Emili Rousaud, Jordi Calsamiglia, Sílvio Elías, Enrique Tombas, Maria Teixidor. The first of them, the one who was precandidato presidential for the coming comicios of the club, left a controversial sentence: "Somebody has put the hand in the box".
Four dias later, eight partners of the Barcelona, pertaining to the platform Dignitat Blaugrana and complaint to Bartomeu, as well as to others of his directors. The reason of the indictment would be the suspicions of corruption, supported in the controversial statements of Emili Rousaud, done days before.
6 July 2020
Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC), company auditor hired by Bartomeu months backwards, informs that the club did not make defamations and that there was not corruption neither sobreprecios in the deals between the entity and I3Ventures. However, also it announces that they made incumplimientos of the protocols internosde the entity.
17 September 2020
The opositores to the managerial board of Josep María Bartomeu present 20.731 signatures, in pro to manage the vote of censorship against of the ex-president and of his team. Of the quantity of signaturas presented, are accepted to verify 20.687.
7 and 27 October 2020
The judge Alejandra Gil, of instruction 13 of Barcelona, finds indications of crime in the investigation. Later, in view of that the vote of censorship would celebrate with imminence, the board of Josep María Bartomeu decides to resign en bloc, afterwards of a meeting of urgency.
1 March 2021
The Mossos d'Esquadra investigate the offices of the Camp Nou and, later, detain to Josep Maria Bartomeu and to the directors and exdirectivos of the Barcelona, Jaume Masferrer, Òscar Grau and Román Gómez.
