Comeback and brace: Ferran Torres celebrates his 100th match in LaLiga with Barça in style

FC Barcelona achieved a champion's comeback against Atlético de Madrid (2-4) to take a key step towards the title of LaLiga. The Catalans managed to overturn a 2-0 deficit in just 20 minutes, and Ferran Torres played a crucial role in this mission. The 'Shark' entered the field at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano in the 67th minute, and during his time on the pitch, he celebrated a brace to lead the victory for the culés.

The forward came onto the pitch when Hansi Flick's team was losing 1-0. This deficit was increased by Alexander Sorloth just three minutes later, in the 70th minute. However, in the 72nd minute, Robert Lewandowski narrowed the gap, and quickly, the player from Foios leveled the score with a powerful header from a cross by Raphinha  to kick off the epic comeback of the blaugranas.

After Lamine Yamal scored the go-ahead goal in the 90+3 minute, Torres sealed the Catalan victory in the 90+8 minute with a superb finish from the edge of the area against Oblak in the final moments of the match, thus signing a brace that raises his goal tally this season to 13 goals in all competitions, 7 in LaLiga.

Ferran Torres celebrated his league centenary with Barça 

The memorable performance of the 'Shark' came in his 100th match in LaLiga wearing the blaugrana jersey. The forward reached this centenary figure of matches with the club in the domestic competition reaffirming his role as the star substitute for Hansi Flick's team against Atlético, where he reached 13 goals scored this season, 7 of them in the league championship. Ferran is now the third top scorer for Barça, behind Robert Lewandowski (35) and Raphinha (27), and tied with Lamine Yamal (13).

In the Spanish tournament, Atlético de Madrid (x2), Valladolid, Mallorca, Betis, Valencia, and Las Palmas have been his victims, thus achieving his best scoring record in LaLiga since arriving in the City of Barcelona, as he also celebrated 7 goals last season. Previously, the Valencian had scored 4 in the 2022-2023 season and another 4 in the 2021-2022 season. In total, 22 goals throughout these 100 matches.

Since his league debut on January 23, 2022, at the Alavés stadium, Torres has a record of 70 wins, 11 draws, and 19 losses, as well as a championship won under Xavi Hernández in his second season as a culé. Now, the 'Shark' reaches the centenary in the domestic competition with Barça with the joy of a brace on a magical night and being key in a victory that could be worth a title.
