FC Barcelona continues to have problems with its registrations, which is why it continues to work on reaching the 1:1 rule. The club has already been able to register Joan García and Marcus Rashford. Now this aspect is once again important for the future of Dani Olmo, who was registered in January by a resolution of the Higher Sports Council (CSD).

The attacking midfielder regularized his federative license and was able to participate in the first two matches of LaLiga EA Sports 25/26 against Mallorca and Levante thanks to the 'cautelarísima' dictated on January 7 by the CSD and ratified by the same entity three months later.

However, on April 23, Javier Tebas filed an appeal with the National Court to block the CSD's decision. This ruling will be known from next Monday, September 1, when a new judicial year begins.

The 1:1 is key to clearing up doubts about Dani Olmo's registration

In that sense, it is essential for Barça to reach the 1:1 rule before the closing of the transfer market, which takes place on the same September 1 at 23:59. With sufficient 'Fair Play', the club will be able to close all pending registrations and, in the case of Olmo, deregister his current card and register him again.

Otherwise, if Barcelona closes the market without returning to 1:1 and the National Court reverses the Council's ruling, Dani would be automatically deregistered. Having closed the transfer window, the 'culés' could only reactivate his card from January 1, with the opening of the winter market.

It is worth remembering that the 1:1 rule is the regulation of LaLiga's financial 'Fair Play' that establishes the spending limit of clubs, according to the income and/or savings they register in each financial year. In other words, each team must maintain a balance between investment and earnings.

For this reason, Barça has had to make use of different 'levers' such as player departures, sponsorship agreements and the sale of assets in order to sign and register its reinforcements.

The National Court may prevent Dani Olmo from playing in the 25/26 season

The National Court's ruling may occur on the same September 1. In that scenario, Barça, provided that the resolution was contrary to that of the Council, would have until 23:59 on Monday to regularize Dani Olmo's registration. With Pau Víctor there is no longer a problem, since the striker was transferred to Sporting de Braga.

Otherwise, if the Administrative Litigation Chamber, like the CSD, rules in favor of Barça, the 26-year-old footballer will be able to remain registered with the resolution issued in April, regardless of when the 'culés' return to operate under the 1:1 regulations.

Olmo's card was deregistered in January, by decision of LaLiga and the RFEF, alleging that the 'azulgrana' team did not send in time (before midnight on December 31, 2024) the documentation that guaranteed the sale of the exploitation rights of 475 VIP seats of the Spotify Camp Nou to two investors from the Middle East.

Finally, the employers' association approved the 100 million euros derived from the operation, but the 'Olmo case' remained open months later. Even more so when Barça's new auditor, Crowe Spain, conditioned the 'lever' of the VIP seats to their construction and habilitation within the Estadi.

The return to 1:1 still depends on the VIP seats of the Spotify Camp Nou

The club is still waiting for the 'Ok' from the auditor and LaLiga to this operation, which represents the key to returning to 1:1 in one fell swoop. Dani Olmo was registered for the first time at the end of August 2024 thanks to the salary margin released by the injury of Andreas Christensen.

However, LaLiga and the RFEF only enabled his card for the first part of the 24/25 season, that is, until January 1, 2025. The same happened with Pau Víctor, although the striker was registered two weeks before the Terrassa native.

A week after his deregistration, on January 7, the CSD authorized the reactivation of their federative licenses, alleging the right of both footballers to perform their duties with the club to which they belonged. Now, the future of the '20' as a 'azulgrana' player is once again news due to exclusively financial issues.
