The Barça board will close the 24/25 financial year with revenues close to 950 million euros, 62 M€ more than expected. The great season of Hansi Flick's team has strengthened the Barça coffers
FC Barcelona closed the 2024/25 season with a satisfactory balance both in sports and financial terms. Hansi Flick's team lifted three of the four titles at stake, making a historic local sweep (League, Cup and Super Cup), in addition to reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time in 6 years.
Although being on the verge of the Champions League final meant saying goodbye to an extra income of 15 million euros (25 M€ in case of winning the title), the club will receive almost 62 'kilos' more than budgeted for a season that was supposed to be a transition in Can Barça.
The culé board estimated a net profit of 893 million last October and, finally, the season leaves 950 M€ in the azulgrana coffers. The qualification to 'semis' of Champions, together with the renewal with Nike, were decisive to shoot the income.
The support of the fans in Montjuïc, a key point for the surplus of Barça
Although Barça, finally, could not return to the Spotify Camp Nou for the final stretch of the season, the fans accompanied the team in Montjuïc from beginning to end. Compared to 23/24, the first of the 'exile' in the Lluís Companys, Barça billed 44 million more at the box office.
The team had a shaky end to 2024 as a local in the League, adding three defeats in a row against Las Palmas (1-2), Leganés (0-1) and Altétic (1-2). However, in the second half of the year, they only conceded a draw against Atalanta in the Champions League (2-2, already with the pass to the round of 16 in their pocket) and another against Betis (1-1) before lifting the League title.
The defeat against Villarreal (2-3) on matchday 37 was anecdotal and, finally, an average of 44,526 spectators entered per match, for a total of 1,291,271 fans, 307,705 more than the previous season (not reaching one million spectators).
The contract with Nike boosted Barça's earnings in 24/25
On the other hand, the renewal with Nike, which was in doubt last summer (the club even considered manufacturing its clothing for 24/25), left 260 'kilos' extra for sponsorship contracts, in addition to exceeding the barrier of 140 M€ in the e-commerce section, which in 23/24 barely yielded profits in the order of 107 M€.
The club has had to reward the squad with extra bonuses for performance. In addition, being left out of the Club World Cup implied a net loss of 50 million for traveling to the United States, a gap that will be partially compensated by the pre-season Asian tour.
As things stand, Barça closes the year with green numbers and the confidence of having a winning squad to continue improving its income in 25/26. Looking ahead to the summer market, the outlook is positive, although there is still much to be done (departures, pending 'levers') to meet the demands of LaLiga's 'Fair Play'.
