FC Barcelona is determined to repeat history: Treble in sight

If there is one thing that the FC Barcelona has demonstrated in the 2024-25 season, it is that they are willing to fight for each of the titles. A clear example of this is their qualification to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, being leaders in LaLiga EA Sports (57 points) and also being alive in the semifinals of the Copa del Rey with the series tied (4-4) against Atlético de Madrid.

The Catalan team currently boasts 14 victories and three draws so far this year (and remains unbeaten) has enough reasons for its players to believe in the possibility of conquering, for the third time in its history, a treble. It is not that victories come out of nowhere; it is a well-oiled team, with a base that is becoming increasingly solid.

Absolute goal: La Liga, Champions, and Cup

After the passing of Carles Miñarro, the first team's doctor, which led to the suspension of the match against CA Osasuna, the players took the unfortunate event as another reason to want to lift every possible title, some with the promise that they will do it for the 'Doc', to whom they had great affection and respect.

The Blaugrana are just four matches away from reaching the Champions League final. Additionally, they are one match away from reaching the Copa del Rey final. Meanwhile, in LaLiga EA Sports, the battle at the top is very competitive, as currently Barça is tied on points (with one game less) with Real Madrid (57 points), but due to goal difference, the Blaugrana hold the first position, while Atlético (56 points) closely follows in third place.

The players, aware of the work done, are optimistic. From Raphinha, Pedri, Gavi to Alejandro Balde, they have shown that they feel capable of winning everything, but coach Hansi Flick imposes calm amid the euphoria to keep his players focused on the fact that each match is a different story.

"I think it is important that the players think that we can win everything. They have confidence, but my job is to keep calm and think about the next match, but we want to fight for all titles. It is important to focus on the upcoming matches to achieve success. The players are very focused. The atmosphere is wonderful," expressed Hansi Flick after the match against Benfica in the Champions Round of 16, where the culés won 4-1 on aggregate.

Raphinha, one of the captains, in statements after the match against the Portuguese also demonstrated the confidence they have, assuring Barcelona's candidacy to win all titles:

"I believe we are candidates to win it all," assured the '11' culé.

In that line of thought, Pedri, the 'MVP' of the first and second leg in the Round of 16 against the Lisbon team, also emphasized the objective, but keeping the doctor Miñarro in mind:

"We want to win it all for the doctor," stated the Tenerife native.

Another who did not hold back was Gavi, who showed the desire for glory that Barcelona has. "I am sure that we can win all the titles because we are proving it. For now, we played the Supercopa and we won it," said the Andalusian.

Meanwhile, Alejandro Balde referred to what the Blaugrana club, as a historical entity, must aspire to: "Barça always has to aim for all titles. We must have a winning mentality," he opined.

'LRL', the destructive trident

Barcelona has scored 128 goals across LaLiga, Champions, Copa del Rey, and Supercopa de España. From this figure, their attacking trident stands out: Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal, who have generated 72 goals for the team.
