The FC Barcelona had a day off this Wednesday after the tough defeat at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea (3-0). The Barça squad took a charter flight from London to the Catalan capital once the Champions League commitment was over, with the Barça expedition returning home in the early hours of the morning.

In principle, the team would carry out the usual recovery session starting at 1:00 PM, at the Ciutat Esportiva. However, Hansi Flick preferred to give his players a rest, as the return trip reduced the team's rest hours.

Understanding the morale blow that the heavy defeat against Chelsea represented, the coaching staff prefers to give a day off before focusing on what's next. Barça still has **seven matches to play before the Christmas break**, starting this Saturday the 29th with the duel against Alavés, again at Spotify Camp Nou (16:15 CEST)

Barça to Hold Two Training Sessions Ahead of Alavés Visit

In that regard, the club will return to work on Thursday, with a training session to physically and mentally recover the squad and focus on the plan to follow for matchday 14 of LaLiga. There will also be a session on Friday before Flick's press conference.

Barça closed the gap on Real Madrid again last matchday, who now only have a 1-point lead at the top. Just like in Matchday 13, the Catalans have the chance to put pressure on 'Los Blancos' with a victory that would allow them to temporarily seize first place, pending what happens in Madrid's visit to Girona.

In the league, Barça has secured three consecutive victories, against **Elche** (3-1), **Celta** (2-4), and **Athletic** (4-0). Beyond the 'blow' that the thrashing against Chelsea represented, Hansi Flick is confident that the team will quickly turn the page to maintain their winning streak in the domestic competition.

Facing them will be an Alavés that also suffered a defeat last weekend at home against Celta (0-1). Before the break, the 'babazorros' also lost to Girona (1-0), two results that have dropped them to 14th place in the standings with only 15 points, 16 fewer than the azulgrana team has obtained so far.

Barça's 126th Anniversary Celebration, in an Ideal Setting at Camp Nou

Matchday 14 of LaLiga also coincides with the central date of the 126th anniversary of the founding of Fútbol Club Barcelona, which is celebrated this Saturday, November 29. The club expects to experience a very special celebration, just as it did last Saturday upon returning home after more than 900 days of work at the stadium.

The stage is set for the team to quickly turn the page after the stumble in London with a solid victory in front of their fans. Once again, there will be more than 45,000 culers in the stands of the Camp Nou, which this Saturday will enable a section for visiting fans
