Lewandowski starts his fourth season with Barça this summer. The Polish player, although he will turn 37 in August, is coming off a 42-goal season in 24/25. Is the team right to keep him as a starter?
Robert Lewandowski faces 2025/26 knowing that it may be his last year in Barcelona and with the difficult mission of surpassing his remarkable 24/25 season with 37 years completed. The Polish player scored 42 goals in 52 games last season, performance that has led the coaching staff and the board to ratify him as '9' of the azulgrana team despite his longevity.
The bet is still risky, since 'Lewy' showed signs of physical wear and tear in the final stretch of last season with a muscular injury that left him out for almost a month. In addition, the team does not have another scorer of his characteristics in the squad, although Ferran Torres has shown in recent months conditions to cover the back of the Polish player.
The 'Shark' closed the 24/25 with 19 goals, his top scorer with Barça. Robert also reached his best record since his arrival in Spain and already has 101 goals in 147 official matches with the culés. The striker, in addition, remains the best paid in the squad by far (26 million gross) and, thanks to his performance last season, secured another year of contract.
