Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha scored again against Sevilla (1-4). With this, the offensive trident of Barça follows in the footsteps of the legendary 'MSN' a decade after their first season
FC Barcelona can now say they have a new trident on par with the legendary 'MSN' in the 2024/25 season. A decade after Leo Messi, Luis Suárez, and Neymar Jr. won the treble with Barça, breaking records and dazzling the world with their football, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal are doing the same to establish the 'LRL', a lethal trident that is already making history in Europe.
Between the Pole, the Brazilian, and the youth player, they have already scored 66 goals out of the 113 netted by the team (58.40%), with just over three months of the season left to play. The '9' remains the top scorer with 31 goals in 33 matches, followed by Rafa, who has 24 goals in 35 appearances. Yamal, for his part, has contributed with 11 goals and 14 assists, the same as the Brazilian, while Robert has only provided 3 assists so far.
In the 2014/15 season, their first season together, Messi, Suárez, and Neymar scored a staggering 122 goals out of the 175 scored by the team across La Liga, Copa, and Champions (69.71 %). Leo scored 58, 'Ney' 39, and 'Lucho' 25. 'The Flea' was also the leader in assists (27), followed by the Uruguayan (25) and Dani Alves (11). Neymar finished the season with 10 assists.
Lewandowski and Raphinha keep shining in LaLiga
With their goals against Sevilla (1-4), Lewandowski and Raphinha remain first and third, respectively, in the LaLiga top scorers ranking. The '9' had just scored against Alavés and reached 19 goals, 6 more than the Brazilian (13), who had taken advantage of the thrashing of Valencia (7-0) to break a streak of 4 matches without scoring. In fact, during that stretch, 'Lewy' also went three matches without shaking the net, a drought that significantly affected the team.
Not surprisingly, Barça only accumulated 2 points out of 12 possible, a slump that Hansi Flick's team has overcome in the last two weeks with 3 consecutive victories to get back in the title race. Lamine had also not been 'sharp' during that period, with just 1 assist. Against Valencia, the player from Mataró provided another assist, although he has not managed to end his goal drought (he hasn't scored since matchday 12). Still, the production of the 'LRL' remains remarkable in the 24/25 season.
Indeed, the youth player has managed to score in the Cup (Betis and Valencia) and Champions (Atalanta), as well as performing well in the Supercopa de España (Athletic and Real Madrid). Barça has scored 41 goals in 2025 in 11 matches, 20 of which have come from the offensive trident (8 from Robert, 7 from Rafa, and 5 from Yamal).
