The match between FC Barcelona and Osasuna, corresponding to matchday 27 of LaLiga EA Sports 2024/25, has been officially suspended. Through a statement, the board of the azulgrana team confirmed the suspension of the match scheduled to take place at 21:00 local time due to the death of the first team's doctor, Carles Miñarro García, just minutes before the start of the game.

LaLiga backed the decision to suspend the Barça-Osasuna match
After the club's official announcement, the club issued a statement to support the suspension of the match. "LaLiga regrets the death of the doctor of the first team of FC Barcelona, Dr. Carles Miñarro, and informs that for this reason the Barça-Osasuna match scheduled for today is postponed, pending the resolution of the sole judge of Competitions."
Likewise, the top competition in Spanish football expressed "its most sincere condolences to the family, friends, the club and fans and joins in their pain. The new date and time of the match will be announced shortly," LaLiga's message states.
Carles Miñarro, 40, had worked at FC Barcelona since 2017. This season, he had joined the first team, after his time with the futsal reserve team. He had previously been part of the Sports Assistance and Prevention Unit at the Centre d’Alt Rendiment de San Cugat and the Centre d’Sports Sabadell. His death occurred during the evening of this Saturday, so the players did not even have time to go out onto the pitch to do the usual warm-up beforehand.
"Barça has communicated the news to us and we want to offer our condolences. We have not made any objections to the suspension because life is the most important thing. You cannot play thinking that those people with whom you have permanently invited are not there," says the statement from Osasuna. Now, both teams, together with LaLiga, must find a date to reschedule the match.
