Pedri revealed his dream of winning the Ballon d'Or in a chat with UEFA, although he made it clear that his main goal is to win the treble with Barça
Pedri González does not hide his desire to, in the near future, emulate Rodri (Manchester City) as the winner of the Ballon d'Or. In an interview for UEFA, prior to the Champions League 'semis' against Inter Milan, the FC Barcelona player opened up about the excitement he feels about being one of the strong candidates to win the award given by 'France Football' each year.
"It has always been my dream to lift the Ballon d'Or. When the season ends, there will be time to talk about it," the midfielder began, regarding his candidacy.
For now, at Barça, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Pedri are the main candidates for the Ballon d'Or. Due to offensive production (70 goals between them), the Brazilian and the Pole would be favorites, but the Canary Islander's level this season has undoubtedly been the highest in the Barça squad.

In that sense, the player from Tegueste valued the award obtained by Rodrigo Hernández in the past edition, an award that revalued the work of the midfielder in charge of creation and transition.
"I was very happy that he won it because, in addition to the season he had, I really enjoy playing alongside him in the National Team. He is a player who controls the game very well, he is everywhere on the field," Pedri argued.
However, the Tenerife native is clear that, to aspire to the Ballon d'Or, it is essential to win trophies with Barcelona. The team already has two trophies in the bag in 24-25 after winning the Copa del Rey, but the club's goal is the treble.
For Pedri, the goal is to win everything with Barça

"Now there is a month left and the focus is on the team, on winning the three titles, which is what really matters," explained the Spanish international. In addition, Pedri praised the work done by Hansi Flick, who has assumed a "paternal role" to give confidence to a very young squad.
"He always tries to take care of us. In addition to being strict, which he really is and can be seen from the outside, he really always tries to help you when you are playing badly, he talks to you, he asks you what's wrong," explained the '8' of Barcelona.
Similarly, he highlighted the keys to the success of the scheme used by the coach. "I think the team managed to do it very well (playing with the defensive line so far forward) and, when you see that the coach's idea is working, I think that gives you a lot more confidence," he pointed out in his chat with UEFA.
