During his stay in Colombia, the myth of the FC Barcelona Carles Puyol gave an interview for the UEFA in which it spoke of different concepts of the FC Barcelona in which had the luck to play. This historical Barça of Pep Guardiola and the decision to leave to Èric Abidal raise the Champions League of 2011.
Beginning by the technician of Santpedor, Puyol defined it like "a technician visionario, a phenomenon that taught us a lot and helped us to revolutionise the football. It created a brilliant team, playing very good football and dominating the balloon. It is not only what win but how did it".

In this conversation Carles Puyol also spoke of the illness of his excompañero Éric Abidal and the gesture that had when leaving him raise the "orejona" of 2011: "The previous week to the final were training preparing the party; already they had happened two months from the detection of his tumor. Then I thought that, if we won, it would yield him the honour to raise the glass".
