The board of FC Barcelona confirmed the inauguration of the Spotify Camp Nou for Sunday, August 10. After a surprise campaign that included a pickup truck touring the main streets of Barcelona with a sound system that brings the atmosphere of the Estadi stands to the main Catalan streets, the club ratified the dispute of the Joan Gamper Trophy in Les Corts.

Pending official confirmation, Como of Italy, managed by Cesc Fàbregas, will be the rival of the 'culés' in the official presentation of the squad for the 25/26 season. For now, the team led by Hansi Flick has already incorporated Joan García, waiting to close the signing of Nico Williams.

Since 2022, the club has not boasted several 'top' incorporations in one summer and the board expects a total party, worthy of the wonderful sporting present of a team that swept all the local titles at stake during the 24/25 season.

The Spotify Camp Nou pilot plan: reopening with full capacity at the Gamper

In that sense, Joan Laporta hopes that the Gamper party will be complete and, therefore, Barça wants to carry out its first official test with the full capacity available, that is, 60,000 spectators. For this, the club is already processing all the necessary permits for the reopening of the work, which will be in the 'culés' offices in the coming weeks.

Initially, there was talk of a reduced capacity for 25,000 fans and, later, up to 35,000 seats available for the presentation of the squad. However, the progress in the works during the last weeks leads Barça to contemplate a full capacity to face, probably, Como of Italy.

The 'azulgrana' team is also waiting for the 'Ok' from UEFA to the Estadi facilities, which from mid or late September will again be the headquarters of the first team for the Champions League. As planned, Barça will return to Les Corts to play the three competitions at stake, without new moves to other fields.

Barça will formally return to Camp Nou in mid-September

While waiting to confirm if LaLiga confirms the dispute of the first four matchdays of the tournament as a visitor (the club hopes so), along with the official Champions League calendar, Barça plans the definitive reopening of the Spotify Camp Nou for mid-September.

If the employers order Hansi Flick's team to play the fourth matchday at home, the 'culé' temple will reopen its doors on the weekend of September 13 and 14. Similarly, if Barcelona starts its journey in the Champions League group stage as a local, the team will premiere the 'azulgrana' fiefdom in Europe on September 16, 17 or 18.

The first matchday of the tournament is the only one that is played between three days, including matches on Thursday. If, by calendar, the Catalan team plays both matches as a visitor, we will have to wait until September 20 or 21 to return to the Estadi. At the beginning of that month there will be a FIFA date, with which the club will have a couple of extra weeks to give the final touches to the work.
