The renovated Sportify Camp Nou is taking shape. The Blaugrana fans will be able to return to the Estadi in September, after the first four LaLiga matchdays.
The 2024/25 season will feature the return of FC Barcelona to the Spotify Camp Nou, but with reduced capacity because the stadium will still be under construction. The first team is expected to return at the end of September, while the season will begin on the weekend of August 15-17.
The Catalan team will be able to play the first four matchdays of LaLiga EA Sports away from home, something that was confirmed by the president of the Spanish competition, Javier Tebas.
According to the latest information, the Joan Gamper Trophy —to be played between August 9 and 10— is expected to be played at the new Camp Nou, as a pilot test in front of 25,000 fans to determine if the Azulgrana home is fit to host the matches of the new season.
In addition, it is expected that approximately 65,000 spectators —as long as the works progress as planned— will be able to enter the venue during the matches of the new season while it is still under renovation. Once the works are finished, the stadium will have a total capacity of 104,600 fans.
Fan adaptability and season tickets at the new Camp Nou
Regarding adaptability, fans should consider that they will have the locations of the first and second tiers, as they will be operational and the venue will have seven entrances from the street.
Also, another point to highlight is that it is estimated that the VIP seats in the Player Zone will be in operation, as well as the exit tunnel, which will have a viewpoint where fans can see the players.
For its part, it is estimated that the final turf will be installed in mid-July, while the third tier would be in advanced condition for opening to the public.
The Animation Stand will take place in the Gol Sud, which will be made up of 1,200 people. Barça put a mediating company in charge of this task. Meetings have also been held with the participation of Anna Aznar, a representative of the club.
It should be noted that the team's Animation Stand was closed last November. It was made up of four groups: Almogàvers, Front 532, Nostra Ensenya and Supporters Barça.
The decision to close it was made after they refused to pay an amount of 21,000 euros in finesan amount of 21,000 euros in fines for misconduct by some of its members.
In relation to season tickets, Barça will maintain the same method as at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuïc, that is, 83,000 members will continue without the status of season ticket holders until all seats are available. In this way, members must obtain the season pass and will not have a fixed place.
The Spotify Camp Nou, a level above the Santiago Bernabéu
The new Spotify Camp Nou will be a masterpiece of modern architecture, being above the new Santiago Bernabéu. That is why at FCBN we tell you what the new stadium will have, apart from the 104,600 seats.
- 5G Network: With an investment of 10 million euros, the new Camp Nou will have a 5G network compatible with all telephone companies. The installation will be carried out by New Era Visionary Group, together with MasOrange.
- Giant screens: Instead of 360-degree video scoreboards, the board of the Catalan team opted for three giant screens on the edge of the roof, which will be visible from any seat. Both the Santiago Bernabéu and the Wanda Metropolitano have 360° screens, but it is believed that Barça abandoned this idea due to lack of economic profitability and image quality.
- Boulevard: A new shopping Boulevard will be the link between the different tiers. The new Camp Nou will be divided into three tiers for about 32,000 people. The increase in locations is explained thanks to the implementation of the new VIP seats, which go from 2,500 exclusive seats to 9,400.
- Sky walk: This is a semicircular walk on the roof. This is another attraction that the new Bernabéu does not have. Fans will be able to see the stadium from a height of 70 meters.
