From 27,000 to 60,000 'culés': Barça defines the reopening phases of the Camp Nou. Check all the details here

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The return to the Spotify Camp Nou continues to take shape. FC Barcelona continues to advance at a good pace to meet the new planned deadlines for its return to its historic stronghold. After not obtaining the permit for partial first occupancy that would allow the Joan Gamper Trophy to be played on August 10, the Catalan team now expects September 14 as the new target date.

By then, Hansi Flick's team hopes to receive Valencia CF in Les Corts. This is within the framework of their first commitment in LaLiga EA Sports as a local in the 2025/26 season.

In the midst of this context, important progress has been announced in recent days in the works of the Spotify Camp Nou, including the planting of what will be the definitive turf of the stadium. In addition, a technical and operational inspection was carried out to evaluate various systems of the renovated 'culé' home.

Key advances in the reopening phases of the Spotify Camp Nou

According to information from the newspaper SPORT, an important update has occurred in relation to the authorization of the modification of Phase 1 of the construction licenses. This directly affects the allowed capacity in each of the reopening phases, which are distributed as follows:

  1. Phase 1A (South Goal and Tribune): will be able to accommodate up to 27,000 spectators, an estimated figure for the league debut against the 'ché' team.
  2. Phase 1B (the above plus the Lateral): the capacity would increase to 45,000 attendees, provided that the ECA (European Club Association), after the corresponding inspection during that week of return, authorizes the opening of the Lateral.
  3. Phase 1C (all of the above plus the North Goal): will allow the entry of 60,000 people, although this area is the most delayed in its construction, so this expansion would be subject to October.

Renewal of licenses and continuity of the works

In turn, the return to the 'azulgrana' stronghold has received another positive boost. The district of Les Corts has approved the renewal of the current license for the works until September 12, maintaining the same operating conditions that have allowed Barcelona to advance at a considerable pace. Only some specific setbacks, typical of constructions of this magnitude, have partially slowed down the work.

Thanks to this extension, the entity chaired by Joan Laporta will be able to continue executing its roadmap so that the new Spotify Camp Nou is operational as soon as possible, both at a sporting and economic level.
