The Barça players, forced to take a step forward

The FC Barcelona has starred too many ridiculous in the last years in the Champions League. Season after season, the blaugrana have tripped in more occasions of the expected and, worse still, leaving a very poor image in the field. They have been at the top of the bench Ernesto Valverde, Quique Setién and Ronald Koeman, whereas in the offices Josep María Bartomeu and Joan Laporta have 'directed' the orchestra. Independently of those who have been or the phase, the result has been always the same: a defeat, goleada, traced back... Sinking, if it can more, to the Barça in Europe.

The 3-0 in front of the Juventus, the traced back unusual -and historical- of the Rome (0-3) and Liverpool (4-0), as well as the goleada of the Bayern of Munich in Lisbon (2-8) or the one of the Juventus (0-3) and PSG (1-4) the past year and the most recent, the one of the Bavarian group the past week (0-3), all in the Camp Nou... They are the most difficult memories, but also more recent for the Barça in what to Champions League refers . Who is the culprit? It was the president? The trainer?.

Between all these goleadas and humiliations, many of the protagonists were the same. In fact, of the staff that, for example, lived the traced back in front of the Rome in 2018, with Valverde in the benches and Bartomeu in the offices of the Camp Nou, still are in the staff Ter Stegen, Hammered, Umtiti, Alba, Sergi Roberto, Busquets...

Precisely all they (to exception of an Umtiti, that is of 'miracle') in the Barça, were headlines in the debut of the culés in front of the Bayern. Yes they are the heavy weights of the team, that also were in Lisbon, and seems that little or at all have learnt. The curious, in any case, is that they have lived the same nightmare (this of the humiliations) with three trainers totalmentes different and two presidents.

These five or six players are not the 'culprits' of the results, but yes impresses that, are the one who was to the control, the history always repeat . Or up to now, with all the Champions League by in front, the history is like this. It is necessary to put to the players like managers? Probably. The trainers always have had the fault, but has demanded the sufficient to the protagonists in the field? And that is the question.

The comparisons are too odiosas, is not a secret. The Barça has one of the costliest staff of Europe and the same carries being humiliated from 2017 in the continental competition. The past course was in eighth, with the PSG, whereas the Real Madrid with a much less showy changing room and without stars, reached the semifinals and litigated for carrying the tícket to the final. Can argue that they did not win at all, in definite, but the players, without so many resources, litigated to the end... Because they wanted to 'take care' to his trainer?

In the Barça all is different, does not want to say that better or worse, but yes that it is different. Memphis Said does some days that was necessary "to row in the same direction" and has all the reason, from the offices, until the Ciutat Esportiva, arriving to the Camp Nou and in the hotels of concentration. All have to assume chevrons, litigate by more. Stop to conform . A tie has to be inadmissible, an irregular performance can not be accepted only because "it could be worse". The Barça is not a team of half table that has to adjust. It has to sobreponerse always and, independently of who have been the leaders, the reality has not changed.

It is necessary to step forward

The blaugrana have the fortune that the season hardly goes beginning and that the errors can be patched. But it has to have conviction, ambition and, especially, win to litigate and suffer until the last sigh to defend the shield. The youngsters in front of the Bayern like this did it; something that have to adopt also the most veteran (and those that are not so veteran). Still it remains time to show a version more convincente, that will not depend only of the one who take the decisions in the bench.
