FC Barcelona thrashed Trabzonspor 1-4 in the UEFA Youth League final, with Diarra, Cuenca and Alba as great heroes. Discover the details!
FC Barcelona is having a simply unforgettable 2024-25 season, triumphing practically in all its categories. This time, it was the turn of Juvenil A, which was crowned champion of the prestigious UEFA Youth League, a tournament it had not won since 2018. The Azulgrana team won in a remarkable way after beating Turkish Trabzonspor 1-4, also becoming the club with the most awards in the history of this event, with a total of three conquests (2014, 2018 and 2025).

Ibrahim Diarra opened the way with a great goal
Juliano Belletti's team quickly imposed conditions in the match. In the 10th minute, the striker Malian Ibrahim Diarra opened the scoring with a real 'crack' goal. He received the ball in the area's semicircle, courtesy of Quim Junyent, and despite being guarded by three opponents, he took a left-footed shot close to the right post, impossible to clear for the Turkish goalkeeper Erol Can Çolak.

The Catalan team would increase its advantage in the 17th minute. This time, Andrés Cuenca would be in charge of making it 2-0, in an accidental but opportunistic play. After a corner kick by Brian Fariñas, Landry Farre connected with a header, but his shot was repelled by the Ottoman goalkeeper. In the rebound, the defender, almost like a '9', reacted quickly and sent the ball into the back of the net with a lethal toe poke.

Barça dominated with solvency and in the 32nd minute there was a new goal, this time by Juan Hernández, although it would be disallowed after VAR review for offside in the previous action. However, it was a clear warning: the Azulgrana team did not plan to lower the offensive pace.

Trabzonspor barely disturbed before the break
Trabzonspor barely generated danger in the first half. Their only relevant approach came in the 36th minute, when Onuralp Cakiroglu tried to finish a cross from Bican Tibukoglu, but the Azulgrana defense reacted in time to prevent the discount.
Hugo Alba extended the 'Culé' advantage in the second half
Already at the beginning of the second half, the 'Tigers' came out with impetus in search of shortening distances on the scoreboard, generating an early occasion through a corner kick that was finished by Taha Emre Ínce and effectively cleared by the 'Culé' resistance. However, that attempt proved insufficient against a Barcelona that did not forgive in its first clear opportunity of the second half.
This time, the Azulgrana executor was Hugo Alba, captain and striker of the team, who in the 55th minute signed the third goal on the scoreboard. After being enabled by Ibrahim Diarra on the edge of the area, the wearer of the shirt with the number '9' profiled himself with great skill, passing the ball from the left leg to the right to mislead his markers, and drew a lethal right-footed shot that left the Turkish goalkeeper without options, who did not even reach to launch himself to try to stop the shot.

Ibrahim Diarra crowned a double
The match became rough at times, with a Trabzonspor frustrated by the Azulgrana dominance. However, Barça would still have time for more. In the 69th minute, Ibrahim Diarra sealed his double applying practically the same formula as in his first goal: control in the front of the area and low left-footed shot adjusted to the right post. Unstoppable great goal for 4-0.

That marked the closing of the 'tap' for Barcelona, which, despite having a remarkable advantage on the scoreboard, did not stop looking to increase it, although without success. The one who would manage to score would be Trabzonspor, who in the 88th minute scored the goal of honor through Tibukoglu, who could not contain the tears after converting a score that, in the end, only served to decorate the scoreboard, since the 'Culé' victory and the title were more than sealed for an Azulgrana team that obtained the prize for regularity by crowning itself as the best team in the tournament.
