Hansi Flick's FC Barcelona has transferred its spectacular offensive balance in LaLiga to all competitions in play. In the Champions, the Catalans have scored 26 goals in 7 matches

Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona secured its qualification for the UEFA Champions League knockout stage backed by its crushing offense. Just like in LaLiga, the Blaugrana maintain a spectacular average of goals per match that, in Europe, is even higher (3.71 in Champions, 2.6 in League). Liverpool, the undisputed leader with an ideal score, has scored only 15 goals, 11 less than the Catalans. After losing in their debut against Monaco (2-1), Barça scored 25 goals to chain six consecutive victories against Young Boys (5-0), Bayern (4-1), Red Star (2-5), Brest (3-0), Dortmund (2-3), and Benfica (4-5).

In the League, the team led by Hansi Flick has scored 52 goals in 20 matches, 27 less than they scored in the entire tournament last season (79) with practically the entire second half of the season still to play. The record for goals in a season is held by Real Madrid from the 2011-12 season, which under José Mourinho reached 100 points and scored 121 goals.

Barça on track to break all offensive records in Europe

The record for Barça was set in the 16-17 season, with 116 goals scored by Luis Enrique's team, in the last season of the legendary 'MSN'. In that season's Champions, the Catalans scored 20 goals in the 6 group stage matches and another 6 between the round of 16 and quarter-finals, totaling 26 goals in 10 matches, the same amount scored this season in the first 7 matches of the league phase.

In the previous edition of the tournament, Xavi Hernández's team scored 20 goals in 10 matches, while in the 2014-15 season, the last time Barcelona was crowned in Europe, the club scored 31 goals in the 13 matches they played from the group stage (15 GF) to the knockout round (13 GF) and the final against Juventus (3-1). The records for the 2024-25 season are undoubtedly significantly higher, with an average of 3.71 goals per match.

Hansi Flick's team has already secured their direct passage to the knockout stage as one of the TOP-8 teams, so they will not have to play the two extra matches in the playoff in February. For now, the only team in the tournament with offensive records close to the Catalans is Atalanta (18 GF), which will visit Montjuïc next Wednesday to close the league phase. In all competitions, Barça has already scored 94 goals in 31 official matches of the 24-25 season (3.03 per match).
