Mbappé and Salah intensify the pressure on Gyökeres in the final stretch for the 2025 Golden Boot. Will they be able to reach the Swede?
The race for the 2024-25 Golden Boot continues to be red-hot in the final stretch of the season. Viktor Gyökeres continues to lead alone with 39 goals, now with only half a point ahead of Kylian Mbappé. For his part, Robert Lewandowski has run out of options due to his goal drought in the final stretch of LaLiga.
The Pole is fifth behind Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) and Mohamed Salah (Liverpool). The Egyptian dropped to third place in the standings with 57 points, one less than Madrid's top scorer and Pichichi of LaLiga.

The striker Viktor Gyökeres (26 years old) gives no respite in the fight for the 2024-25 Golden Boot after closing a historic season in the Portuguese league. The Swede scored 39 goals, ten more than Kylian Mbappé and, unlike the Frenchman, was able to celebrate the title of the Primeira Liga.
'Kiki' scored another goal, his number 29 in LaLiga, in Madrid's victory against Sevilla (0-2). Who could not take advantage of the day to get closer to Gyökeres was Mohamed Salah. The winger left without goals in Liverpool's defeat against Birghton (3-2).

The reason has to do with the hierarchy of the Portuguese league, which unlike the Premier, LaLiga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1, only awards 1.5 points for each goal.
The 'killer' of Sporting CP took the lead three weeks ago, after scoring a 'hat-trick' against Moreirense (3-1) and a 'poker' against Boavista (0-5). On the last day, the Swede scored another goal in the victory against Guimaraes (2-0), with which he closed the season with 53 goals in all competitions.
Further back appear, already practically without options, Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) and Robert Lewandowski. The Englishman closed the Bundesliga with 26 goals, one more than the Pole has scored with Barça in LaLiga.
However, the Swedish scorer has another key disadvantage: he will no longer play with his club. Mbappé and Salah, on the other hand, have one more game to play this weekend against Real Sociedad and Crystal Palace, respectively.
