Viktor Gyökeres remains the leader in the 2025 Golden Boot ranking. Lewandowski, meanwhile, has lost ground. This is how the battle between goalscorers is going!

The race for the 2024-25 Golden Boot continues to be red-hot in the final stretch of the season. Viktor Gyökeres is the sole leader with 38 goals, now with only one point ahead of Mohamed Salah. For his part, Robert Lewandowski has moved away from the lead, due to his absence in the last three matchdays of LaLiga.

The Polish player is fourth along with Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) and behind Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid). The Frenchman climbed to third place in the standings with 54 points, after taking the lead in LaLiga goalscorers with 27 goals.

🔹Mohamed Salah is still second with 28 goals
🔹Kylian Mbappé is now third with 27 goals

The striker Viktor Gyökeres (36 years old) gives no respite in the fight for the 2024-25 Golden Boot despite not scoring in the last two matchdays of the Portuguese league. The Swede has 38 goals, ten more than Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian also failed to score against Chelsea and Arsenal in the Premier League, but he is Pichichi with 28 goals. One more than Kylian Mbappé, who took advantage of Robert Lewandowski's absence in the Clásico on Sunday against FC Barcelona (4-3) to score a 'hat-trick' and seize the lead for the Pichichi.

Although Gyökeres has scored a dozen more goals than Salah, both strikers are only one point apart in the fight for the 24/25 Golden Boot. The reason has to do with the hierarchy of the Portuguese league, which unlike the Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1, only awards 1.5 points for each goal.

The 'killer' of Sporting CP took the lead two weeks ago, after scoring a 'hat-trick' against Moreirense (3-1) and a 'poker' against Boavista (0-5). In total, the Swede has 52 goals in all competitions. In fourth position, for now, are Lewandowski and Kane.

Both have 25 goals with Barça and Bayern Munich, respectively. The Englishman was finally able to win an official title with the Bundesliga title, while 'Lewy' is one step away from winning his second League title with the 'culés'.

The same is true for Gyökeres, who is just one win away from winning the Portuguese league with Sporting. Salah has already lifted the Premier League with Liverpool, which means that the only Golden Boot candidate who will close the season without titles will be Mbappé.

However, the Swedish goalscorer has a key disadvantage: he only has one more matchday to play. Salah, on the other hand, can still play two more matches with Liverpool, while Mbappé and Lewandowski have three league matches left with Barça and Madrid, respectively.

🥅Lewandowski still has chances to reach Gyökeres

Although the Polish player has lost ground, he still has three matches to play against Espanyol, Villarreal and Athletic to return to the fight for the lead. Of the three rivals, the '9' of Barça scored a double against Villarreal and another goal against Athletic in the first round of LaLiga. The first objective is to finish Pichichi in Spain, something he already did in 22/23.

⚽Who will win the 2024-25 Golden Boot?

The battle for the Golden Boot is more intense than ever. Gyökeres maintains the lead, but Salah and Mbappé are following closely. Lewandowski, meanwhile, must return to the goalscoring path in the last three matchdays of LaLiga to get back into the fight.
