Bayern Munich relied on their strength to defeat a combative Flamengo (2-3). Kane and Goretzka, in the first half, paved the way for the Bavarian triumph with two goals
Bayern Munich advanced to the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup on another discreet afternoon for Vincent Kompany's team. Against a very offensive Flamengo, the Bavarians struggled to win in Miami (2-3). Now, the Germans will face Paris Saint-Germain in the quarterfinals next Saturday.
The Munich team went from strength to weakness, perhaps erring on the side of extreme relaxation after seeing themselves with a two-goal lead before the 10th minute. The 'Mengao', however, stood up and, at times, was superior, but the forcefulness in the areas made the difference in favor of the Bundesliga champion.
Bayern Struck Early Against a Weak Flamengo Defense
The 0-1 came in the 6th minute, after a corner from the left that the Chilean Erick Pulgar, in his eagerness to clear, headed straight into his own net, leaving goalkeeper Rossi without a chance to react. Three minutes later, Harry Kane extended the lead with an excellent left-footed shot placed at the base of the post, from outside the area after a mistake in the 'Fla' exit.

The Bavarians seemed to have the victory in their pocket and were heading for another historic rout, after the 10-0 against Auckland in their debut. However, Flamengo reacted with effective pressure in midfield. Gerson scored with a missile past the half-hour mark, in the 33rd minute, shooting Neuer, who had already made a remarkable save by that point.

When the Brazilians were at their best, Leon Goretzka, in the 41st minute, made it 1-3 with another shot from medium distance, taking advantage of the passivity of the Flamengo defenders and the null reaction of goalkeeper Rossi, totally out of position at the time of the shot.

Harry Kane Ended Flamengo's Hopes with His Brace
After the break, Flamengo came into the game much more plugged in. Jorginho, from a penalty, narrowed the gap again in the 55th minute, after a very clear penalty handball by Michael Olise.
After a very poor quarter of an hour for Bayern, Kompany brought on Sané and Pavlovic for Coman and Goretzka. Jamal Musiala also came on for Gnabry a little later and the Germans regained control of the midfield.
In the 73rd minute, Kane, with another low shot, very tight this time with his right foot, sealed the match after a good combination with Joshua Kimmich. Flamengo put up a 'fight' until the end, but the Munich team imposed their hierarchy to advance to the quarterfinals.
What was better?😯

In the next phase, Bayern and PSG will re-edit the 2020 Champions League final in what promises to be a true early final. Earlier on Sunday, Luis Enrique's team crushed Inter Miami with four goals before the break (0-4).
Gauls and Bavarians are on the same side of the bracket as Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid and Juventus, so there is a high probability of seeing two European clashes in the next phase.
