Pep Guardiola gave his definitive version on a possible return to Barça and left a very forceful phrase

However, this idea of a hypothetical return of Guardiola to the technical direction of FC Barcelona does not seem to be more than a romantic and utopian fantasy. This was acknowledged by the current coach of Manchester City in an interview with GQ magazine, in which he was blunt when asked about a possible return to the club that gave him his first opportunity to coach in the elite.

He also made an important confession about the next step he will probably take in his professional career once his time at the citizen team comes to an end, with which he recently renewed his contract until 2027: "I know that after this stage with City I am going to stop, that's for sure, it's decided, more than decided", he said.

Then, he acknowledged the need to put a stop to his coaching career, establishing an indefinite pause: "I don't know how long I'm going to stop for, a year, two years, three years, five, ten, fifteen... I don't know. But I am going to leave it after this stage with City, because I need to stop and focus on myself, on my body", he argued.

Finally, and abandoning the subject of his professional future, Guardiola had the opportunity to dedicate a few words to the star and new number 10 of FC Barcelona, Lamine Yamal, and to the constant comparisons that are made with Leo Messi:

"I think Lamine Yamal should be allowed to make his career. And when he has been playing for fifteen years we will say if he is better or worse. Let him make his career. And the fact that they compare him with Messi are big words. As if they compare a painter with Van Gogh, they will say, damn, it's not bad, a sign that he is good. And that comparison is a sign that he is good. But we have to let him make his career. And we'll see", he emphasized.

For Guardiola, the current Blaugrana winger "is quite good", although "Messi is a big deal": "It's 90 goals in a season, for 15 years, without stopping, without injuries. Those are big words. Leave him alone. Leave him alone", he sentenced.
