Barça once again led the audiences in LaLiga, with more than one and a half million average viewers per match in the 2024/25 season
In LaLiga EA Sports, none of the 20 participating clubs generates more attention and expectation than FC Barcelona. In 2024/25, the team led by Hansi Flick, undisputed champion of the tournament, also led the television audiences by a wide margin.
According to a study carried out by the Madrid-based consultancy Barlovento Comunicación, Barça generated an average of 1,570,000 television viewers per match, 102,000 more than those who, on average, watched Real Madrid matches.
In terms of total unique viewers, the Catalans also surpassed Madrid with a total of 9,259,000, 22,000 more than the 'merengues'. Sevilla, meanwhile, was the leader with 11,696,000 viewers, followed by Las Palmas (10,099,000) and Celta de Vigo (9,814,000).
Barça, undisputed king of audiences in LaLiga
In that sense, Barça far exceeded one and a half million viewers, while the 'Casa Blanca' fell a little short of this figure, with 1,468,000 viewers per match. In both cases, none of the 38 matches of both teams in LaLiga were broadcast on free-to-air television.
This contrasts, for example, with Sevilla (third in the Barlovento ranking and leader in total audience). The Andalusians had an average of 1,090,000 per match, being, together with Barcelona and Madrid, the only ones to exceed one million viewers.
However, a total of eleven matches of the Hispalenses in the tournament were broadcast on free-to-air television, which helped considerably to put them at the top. Further back appears Atlético de Madrid, with 938,000 unique viewers on average and no matches on free-to-air television.
Sevilla and Las Palmas, the teams with the most growth in LaLiga audience
The fifth place, surprisingly, was occupied by one of the clubs that ended up losing the category, UD Las Palmas. The Canarians had a total of 858,000 viewers, with 11 matches broadcast on free-to-air TV and 10,099,000 total audience.
On the contrary, the least watched teams in LaLiga in 2024/25 were Leganés (612,000), Getafe (596,000) and Valladolid (546,000). Compared to the previous season, Sevilla and Las Palmas rose 14 places in the ranking, while the biggest fall was suffered by Villarreal (8), going from 5th to 13th place.
In addition to the top three in the standings (Barça, Madrid and Atlético), no live matches of Athletic, Betis and Valencia were broadcast either. Therefore, the Basques appear in 11th place, with only 686,000 average viewers per match.
