Lionel Messi scored a goal in Inter Miami's 3-1 victory against Los Angeles Galaxy in the MLS, a match that marked his return to action after a muscle injury suffered against Necaxa in the Leagues Cup.
The Rosario native entered for the second half of the match, replacing Venezuelan Telasco Segovia. By that time, the team led by Javier Mascherano had taken the lead on the scoreboard thanks to a goal from Jordi Alba.

When the 84th minute was running, the Argentine star received a ball from Rodrigo de Paul and began to dribble until he was located in the half-moon and with a low and precise shot gave the partial 2-1 to the Florida club. The final 3-1 came with a luxury play, De Paul joins again with Messi, and this one through a heel enables Luis Suárez, who did not forgive the Californian team.
Tigres de México, the next rival of Leo Messi and his Inter
Inter Miami continues in the race in the Leagues Cup, where in the quarterfinals they must face Tigres de la UANL (México) at Chase Stadium next Wednesday in a single match. If Lionel Messi's team wins, they would face the winner between Toluca and Orlando City.
As for the MLS, 'Las garzas' are in fifth position in the eastern conference with 45 points, 7 behind leader Cincinnati. Their next match in the domestic tournament will be on August 23 when they visit DC United.
Messi is the top scorer in the history of Inter Miami
The arrival of Lionel Messi to Inter Miami not only had an economic impact for the MLS, but also in the sports records of the club he arrived at. With the goal scored against Los Ángeles Galaxy, he reached 59 goals and is by far the top scorer of 'las garzas'. He is followed by Luis Suárez, with 36 and Leonardo Campana, with 32.
