FC Barcelona coach Hansi Flick gave a press conference in Seoul prior to the friendly against FC Seoul. He addressed key issues such as the Asian tour, the role of Ter Stegen, the emergence of Lamine Yamal, the future of Araújo and the signing of Marcus Rashford.

Hansi Flick speaks from Seoul: optimism, demand and decisions to be made at Barça

The Asian tour, under the sun and pressure

From Seoul, where the heat is more intense than the press, Hansi Flick appeared before the media to take stock of the second leg of FC Barcelona's Asian tour. "We feel welcome," he said. "There are many people in South Korea. It's very hot, but the players are focused; that's what we want to see," he said with the serenity of someone who knows that the most important thermometer is not in the atmosphere, but in the locker room.

A squad on the verge of overflowing... with talent

Asked about the future of Ronald Araújo, Flick raised his eyebrows with something between surprise and resignation: "Many rumors, but right now it doesn't seem like he's going to leave." And he added with surgical precision: "We have very good players and all positions are doubled, even tripled. It will be difficult to manage so much talent, but it is a blessed difficulty. A very tough season awaits us."

Ter Stegen: captain without armband?

Regarding the captaincy, the German coach opted for democracy: "The team will decide, as it has done in the past. Two weeks before the start of the competition we will know who will wear the armband." An elegant way to transfer the symbolic weight to the locker room and avoid media crossfire.

Rashford, Yamal and Dro: past, present and future

Flick also expressed his enthusiasm for Marcus Rashford, whom he has followed "since his beginnings at Manchester United." He hopes his arrival will bring imbalance and goals. But if Rashford represents international experience, Lamine Yamal is the still uncut diamond of the culé project: "He is an exceptional talent. He can decide matches, and of course he will play tomorrow."

He also had words for Dro, the young youth player who already had minutes against Vissel Kobe: "He has to evolve, but he has a natural relationship with the ball. La Masia, once again, has done a fantastic job." However, he warned: the midfield is as crowded as a traffic jam on the Seoul highway at rush hour.

Asia, sports market and pressure scenario

The German did not hide that Asia is also a strategic showcase for the club, although he preferred to focus on the pitch: "It is not my job to think about Asian signings, now we are focused on tomorrow's match and the Joan Gamper Trophy."

Regarding the local fans, only gratitude: "We are happy to be here. We want to show the football we offered last season and that the South Korean fans enjoy it. We are going to give our best."

Hansi Flick has begun his cycle with Barça not as a revolutionary, but as a goldsmith: adjusting pieces, measuring tensions, cultivating talents and letting the group decide what only the group can decide. In a club where noise is common and calm, a luxury, his speech sounds, for now, like that of someone who wants to win more than talk.
