GAMPER 2025: FC Barcelona chooses Cesc Fàbregas' Como as a possible rival

With the 2024-2025 season already over, FC Barcelona is working on the preparations for its summer preseason and, as every year, in the organization of the Joan Gamper Trophy, the traditional presentation match before the fans.

According to the newspaper SPORT, Como 1907, a team managed by Cesc Fàbregas, is the main candidate to play this edition of the tournament. It would be the first time that the Catalan coach has faced his former team since taking office on the bench.

A Gamper marked by calendar adjustments and the Camp Nou works

This summer presents several logistical challenges. The start of the Club World Cup on June 15 has conditioned the pre-seasons of many teams. Added to this is the state of the works of the Spotify Camp Nou, whose availability is not yet fully guaranteed.

Despite these circumstances, Barça maintains its usual plan: to play the Joan Gamper Trophy in August, possibly on the 10th, and use it as a stage to officially present the team led by Hansi Flick.

Como's promotion and Cesc's consolidation on the bench

Como 1907, a historic club from northern Italy, has had an outstanding season. Under the direction of Cesc Fàbregas, who took over after the team's promotion to Serie A, achieved a meritorious tenth position in its first year in the top category.
