Barça's tour of Asia will mean strengthening the club's economic muscle, although having participated in the Club World Cup could also have meant higher income

Calendar of FC Barcelona

After the 2024/25 season ends, FC Barcelona already has its sights set on the next campaign. In this case, the Catalan team's work will begin on the upcoming July 27th, with a tour in Asia that will provide a significant financial boost.

In this regard, Barça will play three matches on Asian soil; to be more specific, the Catalans will face a team from the Japanese league and two from South Korea.

This way, manager Hansi Flick will begin to test and fit together the different pieces of the Azulgrana squad. An example of this will be the team's new goalkeeper, Joan García. It is also expected that by then, the left-winger situation will be resolved, and all signs point to it being Nico Williams.

The Asian tour will allow Barcelona to earn large sums of money for each match played. With this in mind, the teams that will face Barça are Vissel Kobe (July 27), FC Seoul (July 31), and Daegu FC (August 4).

How much money will Barça earn from its 2025 Asian tour?

Before getting to the figures, it is important to stress that all of the squad's key players are expected to travel to Asia, as they will not have commitments with their national teams during that period.

That said, it is expected that the club's coffers will receive a minimum of €15 million for these three matches, but the amount could increase depending on variables that have not yet been specified. If these are met, Barça could end up bringing in around €25 million during its 2025 preseason.

This trip to Asia will mark Barcelona's return to the continent after six years. Furthermore, this preseason is set to be the most lucrative for Barça, as the record revenue for a preparation tour for the club stands at €12 million; this occurred in 2017.

The Asian tour, an alternative for Barça to the Club World Cup

Barcelona probably could have earned more income if they had participated in the Club World Cup which is currently underway on US soil.

For context, Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid, both LaLiga EA Sports teams, will receive €35 and €20 million, respectively, for their performance in the tournament. This does not include the €50 million that FIFA pays each club just for qualifying for the tournament.

In that regard, the champion takes home €37 million for winning the title, but for the stages leading up to the final match, FIFA awards €7 million for reaching the round of 16, €12 million for reaching the quarterfinals, €20 million for entering the semifinals, €28 million for qualifying for the final, and €37 million for lifting the title.
