Three Spanish stars in the IFFHS XI of the Year
Rodrigo, Carvajal and Lamine: stars of the year in international football, highlighted by the IFFHS in 2024
The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) announced this Friday the Eleven of the Year 2024, highlighting the presence of three players from the Spanish National Team: Rodrigo Hernández, Dani Carvajal and Lamine Yamal. This recognition closes a spectacular year for both footballers and Spanish football, marked by the conquest of the fourth European Championship in Germany last summer.
Spain, the most represented country
With three players in the ideal team, Spain is positioned as the nation with the greatest presence in the prestigious IFFHS Eleven of the Year. This honour reflects the great collective and individual performance of the Spanish players in a memorable year.
At 17 years old, Lamine Yamal has been chosen as the best young player of both the European Championship and the season, consolidating himself as one of the greatest promises of world football.
Rodrigo Hernández has had an unforgettable 2024, being awarded the Ballon d'Or and named MVP of the European Championship.
Dani Carvajal adds this recognition to the ideal eleven to an enviable list of achievements that includes the European Championship won with the Selection.
This recognition from the IFFHS is added to the appointment of Luis de la Fuente as best national team coach of 2024 leading Spain to the conquest of its fourth European Championship.
