Pablo Torre wants a greater role on the field and has already expressed his dissatisfaction with the lack of minutes. Now Barça must decide whether the player from Cantabria leaves on loan or is sold
The future of Pablo Torre seems to be far from FC Barcelona. In principle, the player has already shown his discontent with the lack of opportunities during the 2024/25 season, where he only played 421 minutes spread over 14 games (5 as a starter).
According to the latest rumors, both the player and the club are willing to find a satisfactory solution for all parties. In this way, the midfielder, who has a contract until 2026 —they have not yet offered him a renewal—, seeks to have a greater role.
The player stated in an interview with 'Sport' that coach Hansi Flick was not fair to him during the season. The native of Soto de la Marina also pointed out that he respects the decisions of the German coach, but that he often does not understand them.
"I think I could have played many more minutes, I think I earned them. There was a lot of competition and it was difficult to get in, but I think that on that part it wasn't fair either and I told him that in a chat I had with him," Torre said.
Loan or sale? Barça's options with Pablo Torre

The competition in the attacking midfield of the blaugrana team is very tough. The Catalan team has several players who are direct competition for this demarcation. From Dani Olmo and Gavi, to Fermín López, are pieces that can cover this position, in which Pablo Torre's best version is seen.
Now, taking into account this scenario, the latest information indicates that FC Barcelona would prefer to cash in on the player in the summer market that opens on July 1st.
In that sense, there is also the option of extending the player's contract and letting him leave on loan with an option to buy or selling him with an affordable buy-back option that allows the Culés to recover a player with great potential.
During the 24/25 season, Torre barely played 421 minutes, where he recorded 4 goals and 3 assists. In this sense, the '14' is one of the players who played the least amount of time during the season, being almost on par with teammates who also played very little, but due to injuries such as Marc-André ter Stegen (765'), Marc Bernal (244') or Andreas Christensen (259').
In addition, Barça is aware that, if the player decides to leave on a permanent transfer, they want to recover the 5 million euros they invested in 2022 when they negotiated his signing with Racing de Santander.
Barça awaits offers for Pablo Torre
Although so far the rumors indicate that clubs such as Betis, Real Sociedad, Valencia, Sevilla, Mallorca, Bayern Leverkusen, Oporto and Celta de Vigo are closely following his situation, the player —for the moment— has not expressed his desire to leave the Ciudad Condal.
Therefore, we will have to wait to see what the transfer market holds in terms of proposals related to Pablo Torre. Meanwhile, the blaugrana team hopes that the player from Cantabria will revalue himself in the European U-21 Championship that he is playing with the Spanish national team in Slovakia.
