Galatasaray has not given up on Marc-André ter Stegen. The Turkish giant is offering him a salary very similar to what he would receive in his remaining three years of contract with Barça.

Marc-André ter Stegen's desire, in principle, is to continue wearing the FC Barcelona jersey for the three years remaining on his contract with the Catalan club (until 2028), but he remains expectant about his situation after the arrival of Joan García and the renewal of Wojciech Szczęsny, a situation that will make him lose more prominence.

That is why, from Turkey, Galatasaray has not given up on its idea of convincing him to change scenery and be able to incorporate him for the 2025/26 season. Weeks after being linked with the 33-year-old goalkeeper, the current Turkish football champion is reactivating its intentions.

In that sense, according to the 'Sabah Spor' media outlet, the operation to sign the '1' of Barça would gain momentum after the 'yellow and red' manage to close the definitive incorporation of the Nigerian striker Victor Oshimen.

For its part, according to 'SPORT', Galatasaray initially offered Ter Stegen 5 million euros net per season to try to seduce him. They also expressed the idea of forming a competitive team that could compete against any big club in Europe. However, this did not convince 'MATS', since this salary is still lower than what he would receive in Barcelona (7 M€ net).

Now, the Turkish giant would be thinking of launching a second offensive for the native of Mönchengladbach, considering that the pre-season is about to begin (debuts in their league on August 8) and they want to close his possible incorporation so that he does the pre-season with those of Okan Buruk.

What offer will Galatasaray try to convince Ter Stegen with this time?

From the Istanbul team they are clear that, to definitively persuade the German, they must increase the initial offer. Marc-André knows that they see him as a target that will become a priority and that they will not throw in the towel easily after the departure of Fernando Muslera, who was the team's goalkeeper for the last 14 years.

In this context, Galatasaray's rush to close the signing of Osimhen through a transfer that could end up around 75 'kilos', in addition to the hiring of Leroy Sané, would be another sign of the sports project that the 'conqueror of Europe' wants the '1' culé to notice.

However, despite the strong interest of 'the lions', according to reports, the environment of 'MATS' remains attentive to the evolution of uncertain situations in several major European clubs, since both Manchester United and Manchester City would be thinking of starting a period of redefinition under the sticks.

Ter Stegen knows that Barça is not counting on him, but insists on staying

The scenario that the German faces in Barça would not be pleasant at all, as he would become the third goalkeeper of the team, while in the last 10 years he remained the starter. Joan García would now be the first goalkeeper, while Szczęsny the second.

Although Hansi Flick, according to 'Catalunya Radio', would have already commented on his new role to Ter Stegen, the goalkeeper would be willing, for now, to fight for the starting position.

In addition, the azulgrana captain feels belittled, as he agreed to defer the bulk of his salary after renewing in August of 2023 for five seasons and, now, the club wants to get rid of his card with three years to go (about 42 million, at a rate of 28 M€ gross per year).

Therefore, in Barcelona they would be more interested in Marc leaving the entity, but they would not want to push him in a bad way to look for an exit. Nor would they think of sending him to the stands if the goalkeeper decides to stay. Will this 'soap opera' have a happy ending?
