Joan García: "I want to win beautiful things with Barça"

Joan García has already given his first statements as a player of FC Barcelona. After signing the contract that officially unites him to the club until June 30, 2031 —after arriving from RCD Espanyol, the club to which his termination clause was paid (25 M€ plus CPI)—, the player from Sallent de Llobregat spoke to the official media of Barça, leaving great prospects about his adventure as a 'azulgrana'.

First of all, Joan García did not hesitate to express his satisfaction for joining the team and his ambition to succeed with the 'azulgrana' jersey: "

Very happy, very happy. I really wanted this day to come and, finally, it has arrived. I am very happy. I come to continue growing as a goalkeeper and, of course, to win a lot, to achieve very beautiful things with Barça. That's why I came, and we will achieve it," he acknowledged.

A young and attractive project, with familiar faces

The new 'azulgrana' goalkeeper also confessed how seductive the sports project of Barcelona, loaded with young talent, was for him. In turn, he revealed that he has a good relationship with several members of the 'azulgrana' squad:

"When there is such a young team with such good players, it is a very exciting project. Also, I am lucky to know some of them. I really want to start and be with them"

Also, Joan García had time to talk about his characteristics as a goalkeeper, explaining his main virtues on the field: "I consider myself a brave goalkeeper, who always likes to help the team in all situations. I also consider myself quite fast under the posts, with good reflexes, and in the aerial game I try to contribute and help in everything I can," he admitted.

He dreams of succeeding in the new Spotify Camp Nou

One of the most symbolic moments of the day was when Joan García was able to see for the first time the model of the new Spotify Camp Nou. The goalkeeper did not hide his excitement about playing his first games as a local in the renovated stadium: "It is very special to see the model of the Spotify Camp Nou, it is impressive. I am looking forward to opening it and I am sure we will achieve many victories in the Estadi," he concluded.
