Barça will soon announce the renewal of Marc Bernal, along with the update of his registration as a first-team player

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The board of FC Barcelona will soon make official the update of Marc Bernal's contract. The midfielder turned 18 last Monday the 26th and will extend his link with the club until 2029, maintaining his termination clause at 500 million euros.

Although the club received multiple offers in 2024, after the midfielder's great summer with Hansi Flick's team, Barça guaranteed his continuity with a verbal agreement to extend his contract and, with it, his registration as a first-team player.

In 24/25, the player from Berga made his debut wearing the number '28' in LaLiga. Marc was a starter against Valencia, Athletic and Rayo, a match where he suffered a serious knee injury that left him out for the rest of the season.

Marc Bernal: renewal and imminent return with Barça

Although the Catalan has progressed satisfactorily in his recovery, the most likely thing is that he will receive medical discharge at the end of August, completing a year of absence (his injury occurred on August 27 in Vallecas).

Bernal suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee and another injury associated with the external meniscus, so all necessary precautions will be taken to avoid any relapse.

The midfielder, however, is not completely ruled out for the Joan Gamper Trophy (August 9 or 10), which would mean he would be ready to play again from matchday 1 of LaLiga (in mid-August). However, everything will depend on his evolution during the pre-season.

In any case, Barça will resolve his continuity shortly, while the bulk of the squad is already enjoying their holidays. The international 'culés' will have action with their national teams between June 2 and 10.

After that, there will be a full month of rest for the group until the return to work on July 13. While the squad enjoys a well-deserved vacation, the player from Berga will continue working on the final stretch of his recovery.

As happened with Lamine Yamal, Marc Bernal's contract ensures the continuity of one of the future references of the squad with a prohibitive clause and a salary that will be adjusted progressively, according to the player's performance.
