Roony Bardghji has already signed his contract with Barça. Pending the official announcement by the club, the Swedish winger will be a 'culé' for the next 4 seasons, until June 2029

FC Barcelona has closed the signing of Roony Bardghji. The 19-year-old forward arrived in Catalonia on Friday and has signed for four seasons with the 'azulgrana' team, until June 2029, in exchange for 2 million euros plus variables.

The Swedish international will immediately join Hansi Flick's team, although the club will only make the official announcement of his signing in the coming days. Several sources, including Fabrizio Romano, confirmed the agreement between Barça and Copenhagen, which has been closed after performing the medical tests on the Kuwait-born player.

Barça will define Roony Bardghji's future after the preseason

In principle, Bardghji will be Barça's second reinforcement for the 25/26 season, as long as he convinces Flick to reserve a place for him in the squad after the Asian tour. The 'culés' will face the Japanese Vissel Kobe and the Koreans Seoul and Daegu between July 27 and August 4.

If Roony takes advantage of these three friendlies to exploit his quality, he will be an alternative to Lamine Yamal on the right side. The Swede comes from scoring 23 goals in 107 official matches with Copenhagen in which he also gave 5 assists.

In the Champions League, he scored a goal against United in 2023. Although he was practically all of the previous season out due to a serious injury to his right knee (ruptured cruciate ligament), the 19-year-old player is confident in recovering his best version with the 'azulgrana' team.

Bardghji can be Lamine Yamal and Raphinha's reliable substitute

Bardghji can play as a winger and attacking midfielder, with dribbling speed and associative play being his best weapons. Although he does not have as much overflow as Lamine, he can make an effective tandem with Jules Koundé on the right, also associating with pieces such as Raphinha and Dani Olmo.

The Swede attacks spaces very well, is effective in individual duels and has a fairly refined left foot, although his shot from outside the area is not yet powerful. However, he can be very useful to dose the physical load of the 'culé' offensive trident.

With seasons of 60 or more matches, the ideal is to prevent most of the usual starters from reaching 5,000 minutes of action in the course. In the 24/25 season, Yamal, for example, played 4,553' in 56 matches, while Rafa closed the season with 4,663' in 57 appearances.

If Roony Bardghji's performance during the preseason is not good, Barça plans to send him on loan to another club in LaLiga. With the 'azulgrana' subsidiary in Segunda RFEF, this will be the best option for a forward who needs confidence and playing time to exploit his talent.
