Szczęsny has already decided to stay at FC Barcelona. The club offered him two years after a 2024/25 season that broke all the plans
Wojciech Szczęsny will continue to be a player of FC Barcelona. The experienced 35-year-old goalkeeper, according to ESPN, has already given the 'yes' to the Blaugrana team to sign a contract that, as was initially commented, —when the offer from the 'culés' arose—, will be for two seasons.
At this point, it is worth remembering that the Warsaw native formally ended his relationship with Barça on June 30th. However, and despite the fact that the Catalan team hired the services of Joan García, it was expected to be able to renew the '25', who, on paper, would bring depth and experience to the position as a second goalkeeper.

All this, with the expectation of what will happen with the future of Marc-André ter Stegen, whose departure from the Barcelona team gives the impression of being in limbo. In turn, there is the case of Iñaki Peña, who does seem a clear transfer target in this summer market.
Szczesny: a luxury 'backup' after a surprising season
By ensuring the continuity of Szczęsny, Barcelona would have a top-level 'backup', seeing what the Pole was capable of doing in this 2024/25 season. An atypical opportunity, if you will, since the goalkeeper received the call from the team from the Ciudad Condal when he was already retired, enjoying post-football life. But, faced with such a suggestive request as that of Barça, as he himself said:
"If you say no to Barça, it means you don't have the balls for such a challenge"
Once assimilated as a 'culé', it didn't take long to take the place of Iñaki Peña, taking over the starting position and keeping it even after Marc-André ter Stegen recovered from his knee injury. Thus, throughout this period, beyond being key for Barcelona to achieve the national treble (LaLiga, Copa del Rey and Supercopa), he ended up adding 30 matches played, 36 goals conceded and 14 clean sheets.
Szczęsny would have accepted the renewal after meditating with his family
A season that led Barça to consider his renewal and to offer him, effectively, a two-year contract. However, as the Pole admitted, this proposal was put on standby, since it was a decision that he had to meditate on with his family. A consultation that, apparently, has been positive: the Pole will continue as a 'culé'.
Now the question falls squarely: will this renewal of Szczęsny be made official soon? We'll have to see.
