Agnelli defends the Super League and charges again against UEFA

Andrea Agnelli, the one who went president of the Juventus and saw forced to abandon the charge in front of the process of investigation that carries out the Fiscalía of Turín on presumptive irregularities in the Italian team, has gone out again to offer statements in pro of the project of creation of a Superliga European. For the exdirectivo treats of a necessary change in the model of the current football in function of the profitability.

In his opinion, the initiative keeps firm, warning that the English football is a 'economic monster' and unsustainable that looms to the balompié in the continent: "The project is still in foot and is strong. We decide us by several reasons that can resumirse in a sentence: 'The UEFA commands in everything and is not owner of at all'. The brecha of the Premier regarding other championships is every time greater and is turning into insalvable".

For Agnelli, this change will allow to guarantee a greater show and favour the participation of several teams with an important historical weight in the competition: "The Superliga is necessary because if the football keeps on being so predictable, the people will move away of the stadiums increasingly. The current system leaves without option to historical teams, to many of them like Anderlecht, Celtic, Benfica, Panathinaikos or Crash Red of Belgrade, for quoting only some examples".

Likewise, it has quoted the case of the Ajax of Ámsterdam, that could remain went in a previous phase after having been between the four better and very near to contest the decisive party in the edition 2018/19: "they have given dramatic cases: The Ajax proclaimed champion of Holland in 2019, won the Glass and the Supercopa Dutch and played the semifinals of the League of Champions. Two months afterwards, the club could have been deleted in the preliminary round of the new League of Champions…".

The exdirectivo juventino also has remembered that the Superliga was near to set up previously, but some movements by part of the Leagues and Federations would finish frustrating the attempt: "In 2019 we were prepared to give the step.
