The new project of the FIFA consistent in the Super World-wide of Clubs that would celebrate in 2021 has taken form during the last weeks. It treats of a competition quesemejante to the Champions League but in world-wide version, in which they can participate the best teams of all the planet, and no only the Europeans.
In spite of that seems a very attractive proposal for the viewers, a lot of organisms have showed critics with the FIFA by the project. The UEFA is one of them and has toughened a lot during the last weeks for oponerse to the Super World-wide of Clubs for considering something that would be negative for the football.
It is necessary to remember that FC Barcelona and Real Madrid have positioned totally in favour of the dispute of the competition, that evidenciando the attractive that it would be to sportive level, would report a lot of income to the clubs, that would win 20 millions only for participating. Besides, it is necessary to explain also the income by television and advertising.
Besides, up to now, the only competition that measured to teams of all the parts of the world was the World-wide of conventional Clubs, but this only gave the opportunity to participate to a team of each continent more some invited. The new competition would agglutinate to the 24 better teams of the planet.
Criticisms of Javier Thebes
Javier Thebes, president of LaLiga, showed totally contrary to the project of the Super World-wide of Clubs: "it Is totally irresponsible and would damage severely to the national competitions. My obligation is to protect the industry of the football in Spain and these tournaments would damage the image of the League of football and the industry of the football here"
Thebes still went further and ensured that it would cause the destruction of the national league: "Already I have said them to the Real Madrid and to the Barcelona in this regard: it will be bread for today and hunger for morning. It will cause a deconstruction of the national league. Already we have this problem in Europe. We have to face it and find a solution because a World-wide of greater Clubs will worsen it even more".
