Barça has already secured the 2024/2025 LaLiga title with 85 points, the same number with which Xavi Hernández's team finished second last season

FC Barcelona secured the LaLiga EA Sports 2024/25 title with two matchdays to spare, thanks to their victory against Espanyol (0-2) on matchday 36 in Cornellà. With the championship secured, Hansi Flick's side fell in their last appearance at Montjuïc against Villarreal (2-3), meaning the team maintains its record of 85 points after 37 games played.

In that sense, Barça managed to reclaim the LaLiga title with the same number of points obtained in the previous season. With Xavi Hernández on the bench, the *culés* finished the 23/24 season with 85 points, the result of 26 wins, 7 draws, and 5 losses. In the current campaign, the team lost one more game (6), but has accumulated 27 wins and only 4 draws.

Flick's Barça's Attack Made the Difference in LaLiga

However, the main difference from one season to another lies in the offensive aspect. In 24/25, Barcelona has scored 99 goals in 37 matchdays, with an average of 2.67 goals per game. In contrast, Xavi's side only scored 79 goals (20 fewer) in their 38 appearances in 23/24.

Furthermore, in defense, the team also improved slightly after Hansi Flick's arrival. So far, Barça has conceded 39 goals, 5 fewer than they conceded the previous season (44). The goal difference in 24/25 is +60, almost triple that of 23/24 (+35). However, the decisive factor for the *azulgrana's* triumph was in los Clásicos.

Currently, there is only a 4-point difference between Barça and Real Madrid, but Flick's side won both direct encounters with an aggregate score of 8 goals for and only 3 against. Last season, the 'merengues' (95 points) finished ten points ahead of the Catalans, thanks to their double victory in the direct duels (5-4 on aggregate).

Thus, even though Barça might finish the season with only 85 points, the team's performance has shown a notable leap in quality compared to the previous season. The crushing dominance against Madrid, the brutal offensive performance, and defeating 18 of the 19 opponents in the tournament made the difference for the *culés* to reclaim the LaLiga title after their 2023 triumph.
