LaLiga has moved forward the schedule of the Barça vs Real Sociedad match of matchday 7 after a request from the Barcelona City Police. The match, scheduled for September 28, does not yet have a confirmed venue.
LaLiga has confirmed the modification of the schedule of the match between Fútbol Club Barcelona and Real Sociedad corresponding to matchday 7 of LaLiga EA Sports.
The match, initially scheduled for Sunday, September 28 at 9:00 p.m., will finally be played that same day at 6:30 p.m. after a request from the Barcelona City Police.
Why is the Barça-Real Sociedad schedule modified?
The reason for the change is due to the coincidence with the Piromusical of the Festes de la Mercè, one of the most crowded events in the city of Barcelona.

The City Police conveyed their concern to LaLiga about the difficulty of managing both events simultaneously, which has led to the match schedule being brought forward, moving it from 9:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Where will the Barça-Real Sociedad match be played?
The big question now is the venue for the match. Barça maintains the desire to return to the Spotify Camp Nou as soon as possible, although it still does not have the final building permits to reopen the stadium.
If this is not possible, the most viable alternative would be the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys de Montjuïc, where the new turf has already been installed, about 7,000 seats have been relocated and the entire competition system has been adapted, including VAR.
A calendar conditioned by the Champions League
Barça faces a busy schedule in the coming weeks, with the visit of Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League scheduled for October 1 in Montjuïc.
The confirmation of this match by UEFA and the club itself contrasts with the uncertainty regarding the match against Real Sociedad, although the advance of the schedule would facilitate its dispute in the Olímpic by not coinciding with the fireworks of the Mercè.
The change of time not only solves a problem of citizen security, but can also mark the return of Barça to Montjuïc, stadium that is already preparing to host the team in European competitions. The final decision on the venue will be known in the coming days.
