FC Barcelona will seek its seventh consecutive victory in LaLiga this Saturday against Osasuna at Montjuïc, matching its best streak in the tournament this season
FC Barcelona hosts Osasuna this Saturday at Montjuïc (21:00 CEST) for matchday 27 of LaLiga in search of maintaining the lead and, in addition, extending their winning streak in the tournament this 2025. After the draw against Getafe in matchday 20 (1-1), Hansi Flick's team has accumulated six consecutive victories and is just one away from matching their best streak in 2024/25.
The Catalans earned the first 21 points available to start the season as undisputed leaders. However, a dip between matchdays 13 and 19 saw them drop to third place. Nevertheless, despite being 7 points behind Real Madrid after matchday 20, the azulgrana regained the lead just a month later.
This was made possible thanks to six consecutive victories against Valencia (7-1), Alavés (1-0), Sevilla (1-4), Rayo (1-0), Las Palmas (1-2), and Real Sociedad (4-0), along with a crisis for Madrid, which only accumulated 5 of the last 15 points available. Not surprisingly, the 'merengues' are now third, behind Atlético.
Osasuna already halted a winning streak of Barça this season
Looking ahead to matchday 27, the opponent will be a tough challenge for the Catalans. In the first round, after seven consecutive victories at the start of the tournament, the 'rojillos' stopped Barça on matchday 8 with a resounding victory at El Sadar (4-2). Hansi Flick opted for his first massive rotation of the season, and the azulgrana had a forgettable afternoon in Pamplona.
The hosts took all three points thanks to goals from Ante Budimir (two goals), Bryan Zaragoza, and Abel Bretones. The Catalans scored with goals from Pau Víctor and Lamine Yamal, in a match filled with controversies that ultimately tipped the balance in favor of Vicente Moreno's side. Ahead of this Saturday's clash, Osasuna will look to reverse a streak of four consecutive defeats in Catalonia, where they have a terrible record of 10 goals conceded and none scored.
