Possible surprises and tactical variations from Flick against Atlético

In principle, Hansi Flick plans to make up to four changes to his starting XI from matchday 14 against Alavés (3-1), with Eric García returning to the center of defense and Jules Koundé at right-back. Frenkie de Jong would be the defensive midfielder, while Pedri González would accompany him in the midfield.
Goalkeeping and defense
-
Joan García will be in goal, while Jules Koundé and Alejandro Balde would be the full-backs. In the center of defense, Eric García could partner Pau Cubarsí. Ronald Araujo is out for personal reasons. Gerard Martín and Andreas Christensen would await their chance on the bench.
Midfield:
-
As a pivot, Frenkie de Jong is set to be Pedri González's partner in midfield, while Dani Olmo will once again be the team's attacking midfielder in place of the injured Fermín López. Marc Bernal is expected to get minutes in the second half. Marc Casadó would also be a substitute after the Dutchman and the Canary Islander's return to the starting XI.
Forward:
-
In attack, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha would complete the Blaugrana attack alongside Robert Lewandowski. The Brazilian had a great first half against Alavés, participating in two goals. Ferran Torres also has options to replace 'Lewy' as the '9'. Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji will be substitutes.
Barça Absences: Which Players Will Miss the Match Against Athletic Due to Injury?
A total of three Barça players will be confirmed absentees due to physical problems. The club confirmed last week the absence of Fermín López, who will be out for around two weeks with a minor injury to his right soleus**Ronald Araujo**, for his part, is out for personal reasons. **Pablo Gavi** and **Ter Stegen** are still long-term absentees, although the German goalkeeper is in the final stages of recovery after lumbar surgery. In fact, on Monday he trained with the squad at the Ciutat Esportiva.
Atlético's Possible Lineup Against Barcelona
- Probable XI: Oblak; Molina, Giménez, Hancko, Ruggeri; Barrios, Cardoso, Gallagher; Simeone, Baena and Julián Álvarez.
- Bench: Musso (GK), Lenglet, Galán, Pubill, Koke, Almada, González, Marín, Griezmann, Sorloth, Raspadori.
- Injured: Robin Le Normad, Marcos Llorente.
- Suspended: None.
Atlético, for their part, arrive at the Spotify Camp Nou at their best moment of the season. Diego Simeone's men have won six in a row and are already three points behind the leaders. Furthermore, they kept a clean sheet in five of those six matches. Against Barça, the 'Colchoneros' have two absences: Robin Le Normad and Marcos Llorente.
In principle, the 'rojiblanco' squad should come out with Oblak in goal and their usual back four made up of Nahuel Molina, Giménez, David Hancko, and Matteo Ruggeri. In midfield, **Cardoso and Pablo Barrios would again be in the double pivot, alongside Connor Gallagher**
As wingers, Gio Simeone and Álex Baena should feature, while up front there would only be Julián Álvarez. Other offensive alternatives are Nico González and Antoine Griezmann, in addition to the Norwegian Sorloth. In matchday 14, Atlético secured three points at home against Oviedo (2-0).
