Manolo González anticipates how Espanyol will try to stop Lamine Yamal and ensure victory against Barça
Manolo González, coach of RCD Espanyol, appeared, like Hansi Flick, in the press conference prior to matchday 36 of LaLiga EA Sports between the 'perico' team and FC Barcelona. The coach, born in Folgoso do Courel (Lugo), among the various topics he addressed in his speech, did not hesitate to explain his team's possible plan to try to stop one of the great stars of the azulgrana team: Lamine Yamal.
"You have to defend a lot and run a lot like we did against Real Madrid and other days. That's what we have to try tomorrow, that they are not comfortable. Very good players have come here and we have managed to stop them," said the coach.

What is Manolo González's key to winning against Barça?
Likewise, Manolo González also explained what, in his opinion, will be the key to obtaining a positive result against Barça at home. "We have to defend and attack very well. The match depends on defending in an organized manner. We know they are going to demand a lot from us. That is non-negotiable. And then we have to try to do what we did in Montjuïc, where we narrowly missed two goals," he explained.

Will Espanyol give Barça a guard of honor? González is not sure
In another vein, but also related to FC Barcelona, the coach of RCD Espanyol avoided commenting on whether his team will give the culé team a guard of honor if their championship is confirmed, something that could happen if Real Madrid loses or draws this Wednesday against RCD Mallorca. In this sense, González admitted at first that he does not give much importance to the issue, commenting: "What worries me is what Espanyol does. I am not too interested in the external factors."
Even, when questioned again about this matter, the coach left a statement with which, without confirming anything, he definitively closed the issue: "When Real Madrid loses, ask me and I will answer you without any problem. Right now they haven't lost yet," he concluded.
