FC Barcelona is all set to debut as host in LaLiga EA Sports 2025/26 this Sunday at the Johan Cruyff Stadium. Hansi Flick's team will receive Valencia before 6,000 spectators at the Ciutat Esportiva field in Sant Joan Despí, after making the adjustments requested by the league.

During Wednesday, LaLiga emissaries visited the stadium to verify the correct functioning of the VAR cameras, as well as the speed of the fiber optic Internet connections and other technical aspects required in all fields of the Spanish First Division.

Barça will be able to play at the Johan Cruyff Stadium without risk of challenge

Although the minimum capacity required for League matches is 8,000, the league approved the change of venue because it is a force majeure. Without the operating licenses of the Spotify Camp Nou or the Lluís Companys of Montjuïc available (due to a concert), Barça enabled the stadium of the men's subsidiary and the women's team as an emergency solution.

In that sense, neither Valencia nor any of the other 18 clubs that play LaLiga 25/26 can challenge the dispute of the match next Sunday at 9:00 p.m. at the Johan Cruyff. Article XIII, section 10, referring to stands, seats, and minimum capacity, the General Regulations of LaLiga establishes that:

  • The stadiums (of the First Division) must have a minimum capacity of 8,000 seats. The Delegate Commission may, due to circumstances of a demographic, architectural, technical or historical nature of the Club/SAD, accept the reduction of said minimum capacity required.

Therefore, once LaLiga authorized Barcelona to play in the stadium built in 2019 its match corresponding to matchday 4 of this season, there are no legal arguments to support any challenge. Thus, everything is ready for the 'culés' to play an official match for the first time on the subsidiary's field.

Barça already played two editions of the Joan Gamper Trophy at the Johan Cruyff (2021 and 2025), both ended with routs against Juventus (3-0) and Como 1907 (5-0). Will Flick's team be able to maintain the undefeated record this Sunday?

Barça-Valencia tickets, exclusive for 16,151 members

One of the aspects that the club has resolved regarding the Barça-Valencia at the Johan Cruyff Stadium has to do with the sale and distribution of tickets. As it is a field with a limited capacity, only 16,151 members who acquired the full season ticket for the last two seasons in Montjuïc will have the possibility of acquiring tickets for this Sunday.

The aforementioned members have the possibility of registering between Wednesday and Friday to receive a 'nominal and non-transferable' ticket. As the offer will exceed the demand, a draw will be held by zones within the stadium. This is how the available prices will be as follows:

  1. North and South Goals: 42 euros
  2. Corners: 57 euros
  3. Sides: 69 euros
  4. Tribune: 78 euros

In addition, the club, as it did in the Gamper against Como, will probably enable 475 VIP seats in the boxes area. Prices started at 625 euros and have reached 1,500 €, according to 'Mundo Deportivo'.
