Barça gave Getafe a real 'wash' at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on matchday 5 of LaLiga (3-0). The Azulgrana goals fell along with the rain in St. Joan Despí
FC Barcelona added their fourth victory in LaLiga 2025/26, for the second consecutive matchday thrashing at the Estadi Johan Cruyff. This time, the victim of the Azulgrana team was José Bordalás' Getafe (3-0), a rival that arrived with 9 points out of a possible 12 on matchday 5.
However, the 'Azulones' were clearly surpassed by a Barça that applied a real 'wash' to the Madrid team on a rainy night in St. Joan Despí. Ferran Torres and Dani Olmo carried the weight of the Culé attack, with the 'Shark' being the great figure with a pair of goals before the break.
With the thrashing, Barça remains just 2 points behind Real Madrid, who did their homework on Saturday against Espanyol (2-0). The Whites, for now, are the only team with a perfect score (15), while the Catalans are, by far, the top scorer in the tournament (16).
Ferran Torres brace and match settled before the break

Hansi Flick made four changes to his lineup compared to the Champions League debut against Newcastle. Although massive rotations were expected due to only having 72 hours of rest between both matches, the German only changed his central defensive duo, in addition to tweaking his attack with a pair of variants.
Eric García and Andreas Christensen came in for Pau Cubarsí and Ronald Araujo, while Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres did the same for Fermín López and Marcus Rashford. The Englishman was a substitute for arriving late to the activation session prior to the match, just as happened to Raphinha last week, against Valencia.
The 'Shark' was the great beneficiary of this decision, occupying the left flank that, in theory, would correspond to 'Rashy'. Rafa, on the other hand, remained on the right in place of the injured Lamine Yamal. Despite Getafe's numerous defensive retreats, Barça only took 15 minutes to break the deadlock.
In the 15th minute, a ball into space from Raphinha allowed Dani Olmo to enter the area. The '20', with eyes in the back of his head, caught Ferran free entering through the middle and pulled off a backheel that the '7' took advantage of to finish first-time past David Soria. A great goal that left the 'Azulón' team very shaken.
José Bordalás' team barely tried to get into the rival area, provoking some throw-ins or corners. In the 34th minute, the Culés caught their rivals off guard after a long clearance from Eric García. The ball fell to Raphinha, who, starting from his own half, enabled the 'Shark' with a cross pass. The player from Foios, again, finished with mastery in front of Soria's advance.
Before the break, Ferran Torres could even have extended his brace with another very clear chance after a great pass from Pedri. The '8' pinched the ball taking advantage of the '7's diagonal run, but the Valencian, this time, shot with too much power and the ball hit the crossbar.
Dani Olmo settled the match in the second half

After the break, Bordalás wanted to reactivate his team with three changes: Djené, Martín and Mayoral for Davinchi, Muñoz and Kamara, respectively. The first two were booked and Flick did the same, removing the only Azulgrana player at risk of suspension, Raphinha.
The Brazilian left his place on the field to Marcus Rashford, the 'punished' one of the matchday. The match was very physical and Ricardo de Burgos was very willing with the cards, so the departure of the '11' was sensible.
Getafe had a timid reaction in the first ten minutes of the second half, with a very dangerous shot from Javi Muñoz and a yellow card provoked by Adrián Liso after a grab by Andreas Christensen.
Seeing that Barça was beginning to suffer from physical wear and tear, Flick sent Marc Casadó and Fermín López onto the field for Frenkie de Jong and Ferran Torres. The '17', in the first play in which he participated, played a perfect long pass that allowed Rashford to break down the right.
The Englishman did not have a shooting angle, but waited for the arrival of teammates. The first to enter the area was Dani Olmo and the '14' played the pass back, allowing the player from Terrassa to finish at will with the entire goal at his disposal. In 62 minutes, Barça settled the match at the Johan Cruyff.
Barcelona closes a great week post-break
For Hansi Flick's team, the week after the first break of the season closes with spectacular records. Three victories in as many appearances and a balance of 9 goals in favor and only 1 against. The Culés will return to action, in the League, next Thursday the 25th, visiting Real Oviedo (21:30).
Towards the end, Roony Bardghji and Ronald Araujo also saw minutes against Getafe. David Soria prevented, with a great save, Rashford's first goal in the League in added time. Joan García, for his part, added another clean sheet, the third in five matchdays, with a couple of important interventions.
