Ferran Torres returned to Barça's starting XI against Betis in grand style. After a couple of consecutive league substitutions, the 'Shark' scored a hat-trick to lead the Catalan comeback in the first half
Ferran Torres continues to add to his tally with Hansi Flick's FC Barcelona in the 2025/26 season. The 'Shark' had scored against Atlético de Madrid on Tuesday and, in just 40 minutes, scored a hat-trick against Real Betis at La Cartuja, one of his favorite stadiums.
Foiós scored 3 goals against **Germany** with Spain (6-0) in the group stage of the 20/21 Nations League. He also scored against **Real Madrid** in April of this year in the Copa del Rey final (3-2).Well, against Betis, Ferran once again made a difference, starting with **a brace in just 112 seconds**. The '7' scored the partial 1-1 in the 11th minute, taking advantage of a pass from **Koundé** from the right.
Then, in the 13th minute, he scored the second goal for Barça, this time volleying a mid-height cross from Roony Bardghji. Barça had started the match losing with a goal from Antony in the 6th minute, but managed to come back in just 7 minutes for the sixth time so far in the League.
Ferran Torres' second hat-trick against Betis
Ferran Torres' consecutive goals were a blow that Betis never managed to recover from. The 'Shark', previously, had scored 6 goals in 12 games against the Andalusian team, including a hat-trick in January 2024, in another Blaugrana thrashing (2-4 at the Benito Villamarín).
That January 21st, Torres scored in the 21st, 48th, and 90+2 minutes. This time, all three of his goals came in the first half, in just 40 minutes. The goal that made it 1-4 came from a somewhat fortunate play, as the Barça number '7' shot without much power, but the ball changed trajectory after a deflection off Marc Bartra that wrong-footed the goalkeeper Valles.
This year, 'The Shark' also scored 3 goals in Barcelona's 'five-goal' victory over Valencia, in the Copa del Rey quarterfinals (0-5). In total, the 25-year-old forward has scored 57 goals in 177 official matches for the Blaugrana team.
Ferran reaches 11 goals in 16 league matchdays
In 25/26, Ferran already has 11 goals in 16 league matchdays, closing the gap with Kylian Mbappé (16). Furthermore, the '7' is the team's top scorer with 13 goals, surpassing Robert Lewandowski (8). Next Tuesday, against Eintracht, it is likely that Hansi Flick will keep him in his Champions League XI, where he has scored a couple of goals so far.
