Javier Tebas responds to Real Madrid TV for the mess of matchday 1 of LaLiga

The controversy ignites in the preview of a new course of LaLiga EA Esports 2025/26. And it is that Real Madrid, through its television channel, 'RMTV', cited a writing by the jurist Miguel García Caba on the social network X, where he points out that Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, has an “animadversion against Real Madrid.”

All this, due to the refusal to reschedule matchday 1 against Osasuna. The 'Casa Blanca' asked to reschedule the duel scheduled for next Tuesday, August 19 at the Santiago Bernabéu, with the aim of extending the vacations of its squad for one more week. However, the employer rejected the request so as not to compromise its calendar.

In that sense, Tebas was quick to respond to the accusation against García Caba, who has been in LaLiga, RFEF and Real Madrid. In his dissertation he began like this: “Miguel, your ‘article’ —if it can be called that— has as much legal basis as I have of being a curling fan. There is only one phrase that deserves analysis: ‘He takes refuge in the regulations. Always the regulations'. But we all know that when it is of interest it is interpreted, adapted, bent. Not this time’”.

Tebas warns Real Madrid TV: “They are wrong about the adversary”

In his response to García Caba, Tebas asserted that “he is wrong about the adversary”, stating that “who has filed criminal complaints against me has been Real Madrid, Who has tried to disqualify me 4 times before the CSD has been the leaders of Real Madrid, by the way, trying to bend the rules.”

Furthermore, in his publication on the social network X, he assured that the leaders of the 'Casa Blanca' have filed more than 100 complaints against LaLiga. And he ends his message to the jurist after his integrity was questioned:

 “(…) this is not about interpretation of ‘your ‘integrity. If so, you would be concerned that:  Chelsea, Club World Cup finalist, finished later than Real Madrid… but starts two days earlier in Premier. ·In France, PSG and other finalist clubs also start without anyone considering bending the rules”

Real Madrid started the preseason four days later

In turn, Javier Tebas recalled in his statement on X that the collective agreement establishes that the vacation period is 21 calendar days, a period that ended on July 30. However, Real Madrid gave its players four more days off.

Xabi Alonso's team began training this Monday, August 4. Their first match will be on Tuesday, August 19 at 9:00 p.m., when they host Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabéu. Previously, they will play a friendly match next Tuesday the 12th against WSG Tirol, in Austria, to complete their preparation for the season that begins on August 15.
